Summary

  • Stellar Blade's New Game Plus mode adds significant content, including 34 new Nano Suits, accessories, cosmetics, skills, and a Hard Mode difficulty.
  • Players retain most progress in New Game Plus, except quests, requiring re-completion of main and side quests to fully experience the game.
  • Stellar Blade sets itself apart with a rich New Game Plus experience, offering more than just a repeat playthrough for dedicated players.

New Game Plus is becoming an increasingly popular feature in games that include gear and leveling systems, as it allows players another chance to further develop their characters by playing through the main story multiple times. Sometimes, New Game Plus can provide players with opportunities they didn't have during a normal playthrough, including a raised level cap, new gear to collect, new quests to complete, and more. In keeping up with trends, Shift Up's action-adventure game Stellar Blade also has New Game Plus, so players can continue their adventure with EVE, Adam, and Lily even after seeing the credits roll.

Stellar Blade's New Game Plus mode does much more than simply allow players to unlock any skills or complete any side quests they didn't during their initial playthrough. Instead, it includes a massive host of additions to the base game, making completing the game for the first time more than worthwhile.

Stellar Blade’s New Game Plus Mode Explained

Everything That Carries Over in Stellar Blade's New Game Plus

While New Game Plus is typically expected to honor the progress that players made on their character during their first playthrough, not every game does that. For instance, when starting a new playthrough with Starfield's New Game Plus, players lose almost everything noteworthy, including their gear and weapons. Thankfully, Stellar Blade is much different, in that the only thing players lose when starting a New Game Plus playthrough is any progress they made on the game's quests during their first run.

  • Gold
  • Items
  • Gear and upgrades
  • Skills and SP
  • Nano Suits
  • Cans
  • Data Bank entries

While it makes sense that Stellar Blade's main quests wouldn't carry over with its New Game Plus, its side quests won't either. This means that any side quests players complete during their first playthrough, including any via the Bulletin Board, will need to be completed again during subsequent runs of the game, so long as players want to.

Everything Added in Stellar Blade's New Game Plus

Stellar Blade's New Game Plus not only carries over almost everything players collected and unlocked during their first playthrough, but it also adds plenty of new content on top of that. Most of this content comes in the form of Nano Suits, but being that Stellar Blade's outfit customization is one of its main forms of progression, it makes sense.

  • 34 new Nano Suits
  • 5 new accessories
  • Two new cosmetics for Adam, Lily, and the Drone each
  • New skills
  • Hard Mode difficulty

Included with Stellar Blade's New Game Plus are 34 new Nano Suits for EVE to wear, 5 new accessories, and two new cosmetic options for Adam, Lily, and the Drone. Immediately, upon starting a New Game Plus run of the game, players will unlock the Raven Suit, which features a gray and blue color scheme.

Additionally, players will gain access to new skills. However, they aren't necessarily new in the way of offering something that hasn't already been offered. Instead, they come in the form of upgrades for EVE's Beta and Burst skills. Finally, New Game Plus will unlock a Hard Mode difficulty. In Hard Mode, players can expect enemies to deal more damage, so they'll need to keep their wits about them as they make their way through the story one more time.

Stellar Blade's New Game Plus doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel, but the amount of content that is added with it is refreshing. Some games offer a New Game Plus mode that doesn't add much at all, so this is just another way that Stellar Blade manages to stand out in the crowd. Players should take advantage of Stellar Blade's New Game Plus as soon as possible to enjoy the extra content sooner rather than later.
