The complete edition of Stellar Blade includes two DLC expansions. Players will be able to start the Nikke DLC fairly early on in their playthroughs, although they may need to wait a bit longer before they can sink their teeth into the NieR content, as doing so will require them to find Emil.

Initially released back in November of 2024, the NieR: Automata DLC adds several new NieR-inspired outfits and cosmetics for Stellar Blade to track down. The following guide will explain how to start the NieR DLC and what exactly players can expect to get out of it.

How to Start the NieR DLC in Stellar Blade

To start the NieR DLC, players will need to have gained access to the Wasteland, which happens around three hours into the game's main story. Once there, they should keep their eyes peeled for Emil, who can be found driving around near the Junkyard supply camp. It's then just a case of shooting his vehicle, which will trigger the start of Stellar Blade's NieR expansion. Players can also find Emil driving around in the Great Desert just to the east of where the Tetrapod drops them off or to the north of the Exhile's Passage supply camp near the elevator to Xion.

Stopping Emil will grant access to his shop, although players won't be able to purchase any of the cosmetics that he sells there without first getting their hands on some Stellar Tears. Stellar Tears are a new type of currency that players can find scattered around the Wasteland and the Great Desert, with fifteen available in total. After finding them all and buying everything from the shop, Emil will stop showing up for good.
