Summary

  • Stellar Blade's new update adds two revealing outfits, Midsummer Alice and Midsummer Redhood, that can be purchased from Roxanne in Xion.
  • Some fans speculated that the outfits were added to cater to the game's fanbase and dispel notions of censorship.
  • The update also introduced new costumes like Black Kunoichi and White Kunoichi, as well as a Boss Challenge game mode.

Stellar Blade has just released a new update, adding two revealing outfits not mentioned in the game’s patch notes. It’s no secret that Stellar Blade is one of the most controversial games of 2024. On one hand, it’s a pretty solid character action game. On the other, it was very polarizing due to its protagonist, Eve, and her sexualized design.

One of the most controversial discussions surrounding the game’s release was whether Stellar Blade was censored or not. Before its release, Stellar Blade was marketed as “fully uncensored in all countries.” However, a day one patch made some alterations to the game, toning down violence levels and changing some of Eve’s costumes, including covering her thighs and cleavage in some outfits. Due to these changes, which the developers claimed were intentional and not forced upon them, a huge controversy emerged.

Action-adventure game Stellar Blade supports a New Game Plus mode, and here's all the bonuses that come with that game mode.

Now, however, Stellar Blade secretly added two very revealing outfits in its latest update, without even mentioning them in the patch notes. The new Stellar Blade outfits are Midsummer Alice and Midsummer Redhood, and they can be acquired by purchasing them from Roxanne in Xion after the patch is installed. Both outfits are arguably among the most revealing ones in the game, as they are essentially swimsuits with low necklines that seem to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood. Like the developer’s previous decision of “censoring” Eve’s outfits, it’s unclear whether these costumes were originally planned as part of the new update or were mostly released to cater to the game’s fanbase and dispel any notions of censorship, though.

How To Unlock The New Stellar Blade Outfits

  • Stellar Blade's Midsummer Alice and Midsummer Redhood outfits can be purchased from Roxanne in Xion after installing the current patch.
  • Black Kunoichi and White Kunoichi are automatically added to the Stellar Blade player's inventory after the patch.

This is far from everything added in the latest Stellar Blade update, though. Other new costumes include Black Kunoichi and White Kunoichi, which become available as soon as the patch is installed. Another major change is the new Boss Challenge game mode, which is essentially a boss rush mode in which gamers face off against the 19 bosses of the game.

Fans will also be glad to know that the Stellar Blade devs recently talked about the game’s future and next major projects. Not only does it look like the devs are considering a PC port for Stellar Blade, but the studio also seems to be working on a new project called Project Witches. Project Witches will likely be quite a different experience from Stellar Blade, though, as it will be a gacha game planned for a multiplatform launch.
