Players who hope to win PvP matches in Stormgate will need to approach the order in which they build their units and structures with some amount of strategy. While this aspect of the game need not be extremely complex, some fans may initially feel overwhelmed by the number of options that are available to them. This guide is written with those players in mind, and it will help them establish a build order for Stormgate's Vanguard faction.

The build order detailed in this guide will give players an option for the beginning of their matches with the the Vanguard faction in Stormgate. It will not provide definitive recommendations about how to approach the end-game, though, as fans should attempt to counter their opponents' specific strategies with their late-game transitions.

Stormgate: Vanguard Build Order

This build order looks to quickly establish a second Command Post and use Lancer units to defend it against early aggression. This fast expansion will give the player a quick material advantage, as it will allow them to mine Luminite from a second mound, which they can use to get Exo and MedTech units online. Those two unit types are undoubtedly powerful, and RTS fans who focus on getting them early should be in quite a strong position.

Players should make sure to use the B.O.B. Overcharge ability if they are struggling against early attacks from their opponent. That ability gives B.O.B. Units temporary improvements to their capabilities in combat, and war game fans can activate it by clicking on the B.O.B. Overcharge icon at the top of the screen and then on a Command Post.

  • Scout with S.C.O.U.T., and use the unit to harass the opponent's workers once located.
  • Train B.O.B.'s continuously. Get 12 on Luminite before sending any to Therium.
  • Build a Barracks and then a Habitat near the Command Post. (1-2x B.O.B.) If a player wants to place these structures on the ramp that leads into their bases, in order to create a wall, it is recommended that they send two B.O.B.'s to deal with any harassing that is performed by the opponent's scout.
  • Train 1x Lancer for defense.
  • Build a Command Post near a second Luminite mound. (4x B.O.B.). Keep 10 B.O.B.'s on the first Luminite mound during this expansion.
  • Build a Sentry Tower near the ramp into the base. (1x B.O.B.)
  • Train Lancers continuously until Exos become available. Start clearing Resource Camps on the map once three Lancers are available.
  • Build a Biokinetics Lab. (1x B.O.B.)
  • Build a Barracks. (1x B.O.B.)
  • Train Exos, moving away from Lancers. Produce these units continuously until MedTechs become available.
  • Upgrade Command Post.

At this point, players can start adding MedTech units to their squads, while also upgrading their Lancers, Exos, and MedTechs through the Biokinetics Lab. Fans of strategy games can also decide the direction that they want to take for the late-game, either building a third Barracks and sticking to Lancers, Exos, and Medtechs or pursuing units that are trained in the Machine Lab and Hangar Bay.
