Fans of farming and life simulators will find Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life to be a wonderful, not to mention adorable, addition to the genre. Players are tasked with raising farm animals, finding true love, and building up the small village they call home in Forgotten Valley. While there are tons to do in tandem with the farm, keeping the animals happy and healthy is an important part of the gameplay.

The most basic way to ensure this happens is to feed them. Players are gifted their first Cow and Fodder when they move to the farm, and while the Fodder will last awhile with just one Cow, they will need to get more reasonably fast, especially if planning to purchase more animals. So, this guide outlines how to get Fodder and feed Cows and other livestock in A Wonderful Life.

How to Get Fodder in A Wonderful Life

A Wonderful Life

Players will start with 30 Fodder kept inside their Barn's Silo. When that starts to get low, they must purchase more to care for their animals properly. The happier an animal is, the better quality Milk and Wool they can get from them to earn money quickly. All the Barn animals need to be fed twice daily, so stocking up on Fodder is wise.

A Wonderful Life

Players can use the blue Ledger next to the Shipping Bin to get feed. Interact with the Ledger and select "Order Feed." There are three potential feed order slots, so they can bulk order Fodder, Fodder+, and Bird Feed for the Chickens in one go.

The order will not arrive until the following day, so players must plan if they are worried about running out. Fodder and Bird Feed cost 20G, and Fodder+ costs 50G. Players can catch fish with the Fishing Rod for extra money if they want to place huge orders.

A Wonderful Life

Another way to get Fodder is to harvest it from the pasture behind the barn. There will be tall patches of grass that players can cut down using the Sickle, and it turns into Fodder. The pasture will grow naturally over time, but players can use Fertilizer from Vesta's shop to encourage faster growth.

How to Feed Cows in A Wonderful Life

A Wonderful Life

Players can insert all their Fodder into the Barn Silo and take it out as needed. To feed Cows, Sheep, and Horses, they must equip the Fodder or Fodder+ and insert it into their designated feed troughs. Happy Cows means valuable Milk whenever players use the Milker. Eventually, they can get an upgraded Milker from the traveling salesman Van.

Players can also release them to the pasture on sunny days to lift their spirits, and they will eat on the grass, which keeps them full but dissipates the grass. Interacting with them daily by talking, snuggling, or using the Brush are other ways to increase farm animal affection, health, and happiness. If players have Sheep, they should use the Clippers to harvest their Wool and do some grooming.
