Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is a twist on the classic Harvest Moon original. Players will take over a farm in a small but lively community in Forgotten Valley, where they can grow crops and raise animals. There are large animals like Cows and Horses, but also smaller domesticated ones, including Cats. Unlike other farm animals, owning a Cat has no financial benefit, but players can get one for fun as a pet.
While several cats are found at Romana's Villa in the northwest area of the village, players will only have one chance to get one in A Wonderful Life. How to Get a Cat in A Wonderful Life
The gameplay in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life focuses on farming and relationship building. Players can collect animal companions throughout their years in the village. Animals can be interacted with to build relationship levels like the NPCs, sometimes resulting in better quality products or unique interactions.
Players can get a Cat for free in Year Two from Romana. Romana is a returning character from the original Harvest Moon, and she lives inside the elegant mansion called The Villa with her butler Sebastian and niece Lumina. Romana is said to be the oldest resident in Forgotten Valley; she enjoys a quiet life in The Villa with her several Cats.
Romana will visit players at the beginning of Autumn during Year Two, around the second or third day. Players must enter their farmhouse during the day to trigger the cutscene. Romana will approach with a black cat that she found hanging around. She cannot keep it, so she asks players if they want to raise it on the farm. There will not be another opportunity to get a Cat if they refuse.
Players got to choose what their Dog looked like, but there is no such customization for the Cat. The most they can do is pick a name for it. Furthermore, there are few special interactions with the Cat outside of picking it up and introducing it to others. Like real-life Cats, it mainly hangs around the farm and naps, but it is an adorable addition to the farm.
