Stranger Things has concluded after giving us an incredible eighth episode of Season 5. However, it seems like fans are having a tough time letting go of the show. Apparently, several fans believe that the ending we saw in Episode 8 was "fake." The community thinks that Netflix is planning to drop a "secret episode" on January 12.

Initially, Season 5, Episode 9 of Stranger Things was supposed to drop on January 7, but it didn't. And now, fans are looking forward to January 12 to see if the Conformity Gate theory is true. Honestly, it's hard to say if we'll get another episode of Stranger Things, but what we can say for sure is that there are a lot of other things for a Stranger Things fan to look forward to.

Netflix's Stranger Things Spinoff Needs To Be Radically Different In Order to Be Successful

Stranger Things season 5 is coming in 2025, and after watching the conclusion to this epic story, fans are curious what the spinoff could be like.

Get Ready For A Behind-The-Scenes Documentary On Stranger Things Season 5

It's Scheduled To Release On January 12

That's right, Netflix hasn't confirmed an Episode 9 for January 12 (and it never will), but the streaming platform will release a behind-the-scenes documentary to shed some light on the making of Season 5. Titled One Last Adventure, the upcoming documentary will give us a look at the cast, crew, and creators are they breathe life into the final season of Stranger Things.

Netflix released a trailer for One Last Adventure, and it definitely seems like a heartfelt experience. It will not only show the entire cast reading their final lines for the first time, but it will also feature them breaking down after realizing it's the last time they'll play these beloved characters. Sure, Episode 8 may not be the last time we'll see these characters on screen, but instead of an Episode 9, it's the One Last Adventure Documentary that is the final goodbye from the creators.

Stranger Things: Tales From '85 Animated Series Is Coming Out in 2026

But It Doesn't Have An Exact Release Date Yet

Stranger Things: Tales From '85 is an upcoming animated series that was announced by the Duffer Brothers back in 2023. However, it wasn't until November 2025 that we got the first official look at the project. The official trailer released by Netflix features the co-producers, the Duffer Brothers, discussing how they came up with the idea.

The trailer also shows the concept art for every character, and they look great in the animation format. Honestly, the animation in the series looks amazing, and the fact that it will feature all the original characters from the series makes it even more enticing for fans. However, it's important to note the characters in the animated series won't be voiced by the original cast. Instead, it will feature an entirely new cast. And to answer your question, yes, the events in Tales From '85 will be canon to the original show. In fact, everything we will see in the animated series will be set between Season 2 and Season 3. As of now, we know that Stranger Things: Tales From '85 will release sometime in 2026, but an exact release date has yet to be announced.

A Stranger Things Live-Action Is Also On Its Way

But The Details Are Very Thin On This Project

You heard it right, a new live-action Stranger Things has been confirmed by the Duffer Brothers. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Duffer Brothers confirmed that they are still in the early stages of this upcoming project. Apparently, they had an idea of this spin-off for a few years, but now that Stranger Things has concluded, they will put more focus on the spin-off. The duo also confirmed that while they will be involved in this spin-off project, they won't act as the showrunners. So who else will lead this project? Well, that's a mystery for now.

Sure, this project will be set in the universe of Stranger Things, but it features a completely new time period and a new set of characters. Of course, there could be some mentions about Eleven or the events from Stranger Things, but this will be an entirely new story. Sounds exciting, for sure, but it's still too early for Duffer Brothers to reveal more details on this project.

The Nancy Wheeler Spin-Off Book Is Already Out

It Connects The Dots Between Season 4 and Season 5

Nancy Wheeler on Stranger Things

Every project that we mentioned above will arrive sometime in the future, but the Nancy Wheeler spin-off has already come out for everyone to read. Titled Stranger Things: One Way Or Another, the spin-off book is written by Caitlin Schneiderhan. The book centers around Nancy Wheeler, who investigates some weird events happening around Hawkins with the help of Robin.

We all know that there was a significant time jump between Season 4 and 5, and well, the spin-off book bridges that gap between the two seasons. What exactly happened when the Hawkins was shaken by the deadly earthquake? And how exactly was the group tracking Vecna? Well, the spin-off answers all those questions for fans. Of course, the Nancy Wheeler spin-off is not so much the future of Stranger Things; it's technically the "past" of Stranger Things. It doesn't offer anything from after Season 5, but still, for every fan who loved the Netflix series, this spin-off book is something worth considering.
