Stranger Things season 5 is almost here, and Netflix has shared a haunting and memorable new poster that hints at the big trouble the residents of Hawkins, Indiana are facing.
After the sci-fi series premiered on the streaming service in July 2016, it wasn't long before it became a huge hit. Fans appreciate the fact that both the child/teenage and adult characters are given equally weighty and powerful storylines, and the eerie backdrop of the Upside Down creates endless intrigue. Season 2, which arrived in October 2017, found the young characters finding more confidence as they explore the evil side of Hawkins after Will Byers's (Noah Schnapp) scary and emotional experience. Season 3's summer 2018 release echoed the fun tone of the episodes, many of which took place at the Starcourt Mall. Then, season 4 came out in May and July 2022 and ended with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) getting ready to beat Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
Now, fans anticipate a three-part release schedule, and part one will be here on November 26th, 2025, followed by part two on December 25th and the series finale on December 31st.
‘It Does Complicate It’ Is Stranger Things: The First Shadow Essential Viewing Before Season 5?
One Stranger Things writer shared whether the successful play is essential to see before season 5.
Stranger Things Season 5 Has A New Poster Showing A Dark And Terrifying Presence Over Hawkins, Indiana
Netflix's new poster for Stranger Things season 5 shows the main characters riding their bikes as Vecna's presence looms over Hawkins, Indiana. The sky is red, which hints at the trouble to come. Netflix.tudum.com also noted that it's been nine years since Stranger Things season 1's premiere date of July 15th, 2016.
Stranger Things season 4 featured a nice mix of fun new characters like misunderstood rebel Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) and goofy Argyle (Eduardo Franco) and thrilling storylines. As was the case during the previous seasons, the main characters adjust to their changing world and fight the creatures of the Upside Down while dealing with the everyday problems of most teenagers. As Stranger Things season 5 ups the action and makes the stakes as high as possible, fans hope that their favorite characters can survive the epic battles that are likely in store. Since Max Mayfield's (Sadie Sink) emotional and heavy season 4 scenes are often accompanied by the Kate Bush song "Running Up That Hill," it would be fun if the fifth and final season used another great and unforgettable song.
Along with the returning main cast members, there are a couple of new characters: Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton), Lt. Akers (Alex Breaux), and Derek Turnbow (Jake Connelly). Mike Wheeler's sister has also been recast. While Tinsley and Anniston Price played Holly in previous seasons, Nell Fisher has taken on the role.
With many cast members noting how sad the Stranger Things finale is, fans anticipate a lot of tears and emotion. It's hard not to expect at least a few upsetting deaths, but it's also tough to picture the hit show wrapping up without happy endings for everyone. Hopefully, the last episode will satisfy viewers who have waited since July 2022 to see how this fun and fascinating tale ends.
Netflix also shared that a Stranger Things season 5 teaser will be released on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025. Fans will find out more about the dangerous state of Hawkins then.
