This is an impressive number when compared to past releases, with Street Fighter 2 selling a total of 6.3 million copies during its lifetime, and Street Fighter 5 selling 7.8 million copies to date. This recent boost in sales may be attributed to Street Fighter 6's Switch 2 release on June 5 alongside the newest Nintendo hardware, which includes console-exclusive modes, new gameplay functions compatible with the Joy-Con 2, and cross-play with other systems. Capcom hopes that releasing the two-year-old fighting game on the Nintendo Switch 2 will boost Street Fighter 6's userbase, as more content is planned to be released soon.
