A new gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6 gives fans their best look at Mai Shiranui yet, while also confirming she'll be added to the roster in just a few weeks. Fans have been eager for more content in Street Fighter 6, with the second Year 2 DLC character Terry having launched all the way back on September 24, 2024, leaving a massive gap in content releases.

Capcom shocked a lot of fans at Summer Game Fest when it revealed a second year of content for Street FIghter 6. While the announcement was met with plenty of positivity, the biggest element to Street Fighter 6's Year 2 DLC is that Capcom and SNK were teaming up to bring iconic fighters Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui to the game. Alongside them, M. Bison and Elena were also confirmed. With Bison and Terry now available, attention turns to Mai, who is set to be released in just a few weeks.

The latest trailer for Street Fighter 6 gives fans their best look at Mai Shiranui, who comes with her classic Fatal Fury costume as well as her new look in the upcoming City of the Wolves. Capcom has confirmed that Street Fighter 6's version of Mai will feel familiar to longtime fans, though her moves have been given a few unique properties and motion input instead of charge attacks. She retains her fans and other classic moves, while also being able to earn "Flame Stacks" to add even more effects to enhance her moves further.

Capcom also gave a bit of a tease for Mai's story elements in Street Fighter 6. While Terry's journey to Street Fighter 6 saw him wanting to test his abilities against strong opponents, Mai's is seemingly a lot simpler. Her reason for visiting Metro City is to track down Terry's brother Andy, who she believes he visited recently. Ultimately, her journey pits her against other characters, like Juri, who challenge her abilities and skills.

With the long period between DLC, many fans have been feeling frustrated by the relative silence from Capcom, not only with major updates, but the game's battle pass system. Street Fighter 6's recent Boot Camp Bonanza battle pass featured a lot of customization items, though fans noted that it lacked character skins and instead focused on avatar items. Fans remain frustrated with the lack of new character skins, a feature which Street Fighter 5 regularly added.
