Final Fantasy: 8 Best Knights, Ranked
The Final Fantasy series is home to an array of iconic Knights, but these are arguably the best of the bunch.
Some of the most notable queens in Final Fantasy are notable for the sheer amount of strength they wield. These characters are captivating when they get the chance to shine and end up elevating the quality of any scene they're featured in, regardless of whether they're standing with the heroes or against them.
8 Hilda
It Takes Serious Grit To Be The Leader Of A Rebellion
Final Fantasy II
- Released
- December 17, 1988
- ESRB
- t
- Genre(s)
- JRPG
Physical might isn't the only way to gauge a person's strength. Sometimes, it's more to do with a person's strong will and the capacity to lead, something that Princess Hilda displays in droves in Final Fantasy 2.
She leads the Wild Rose Rebellion against the tyrannical Emperor and his kingdom, striving to save her domain from his invasive presence. Her innate strength allows her to eventually overthrow the invading empire (with some help from the heroes, of course) and ascend to the throne as a worthy queen.
7 Sheila
Smacks People With A Frying Pan To Show Dominance
Final Fantasy 4
- Released
- July 19, 1991
- ESRB
- e
- Genre(s)
- JRPG
Sheila is Yang's doting wife who loves him with all her heart. She also has a fiery personality and shows this when she uses a simple pan to fend off the soldiers of Baron when they assaulted Fabul.
As comedic as this sounds, it takes some serious stones for someone to beat trained soldiers into submission wielding nothing but a cooking utensil. It's a testament to Sheila's strength and shows why a strong monk like Yang fell for her, making her a worthy queen when Yang became the ruler of Fabul in the epilogue of Final Fantasy 4.
6 Rosa Farrell
A White Mage Who Uses Bows And Marries Cecil To Become Queen Of Baron
Final Fantasy 4
- Released
- July 19, 1991
- ESRB
- e
- Genre(s)
- JRPG
A magic user who uses a bow to pick off enemies from a distance, Rosa is one of the few White Mages in Final Fantasy 4 who can hold her own in battle. That being said, it's not until she unlocks Holy that her full potential in battle is unlocked.
8 Final Fantasy Characters Who Are Playable In More Games, Ranked
Final Fantasy began as a last-ditch effort for Squaresoft to pull out a hit and they certainly succeeded. With a cast that outlives their own games.
All of a sudden, a character who only operated in a support role becomes one of the most potent damage dealers in the entire game. By the end of the game, Cecil marries Rosa and takes her as his queen as he becomes the King of Baron.
5 Garnet Til Alexandros XVII AKA Dagger
A Competent Summoner With Healing Capabilities Who Ascends To The Throne After Her Mother's Demise
Final Fantasy 9

- ESRB
- T for Teen: Violence, Mild Language
- Genre(s)
- JRPG
Princess Garnet is the adopted daughter of Queen Brahne, who becomes disillusioned by her mother's thirst for power and decides to leave the castle. She accompanies Zidane on an adventure of a lifetime, using a wealth of summons to debilitate her opponents and showcase her immense mystical powers as a White Mage.
During the course of events, Queen Brahne meets her end at the hands of Bahamut's Mega Flare, cementing Garnet's position as queen. However, it's not until the party deals with Kuja and saves the world that she feels comfortable enough to take on this responsibility.
4 Crepera Lucis Caelum
A Queen Of Lucis And A Challenging Boss
Final Fantasy 15
- Released
- November 9, 2016
- ESRB
- T for Teen: Language, Mild Blood, Partial Nudity, Violence
- Genre(s)
- Action RPG
Final Fantasy 15's lore is fascinating and does a great job of fleshing out Lucis' royal bloodline. As a woman, she was deemed unfit to rule and decided to recede from the public eye to rule competently without being under constant scrutiny.
The Royal and Windows Editions of Final Fantasy 15 include her as an optional boss encounter, letting players experience first-hand just how strong this character is. While the combat of this game is deemed easy by many, the fight against Crepera has its tricky moments as Noctis is pushed to the very limit by this legendary queen.
3 Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca AKA Ashe
The Princess Of Dalmascia Saves Her Kingdom And Becomes A Worthy Queen

- Released
- October 31, 2006
- ESRB
- T For Teen due to Alcohol Reference, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Partial Nudity, Suggestive Themes

Despite Vaan technically being the protagonist of Final Fantasy 12, most people agree that Ashe's personal story has way more of an impact on the central plot. With Dalmascia smack-dab in the middle of two warring empires, Ashe must move heaven and earth to save her kingdom.
Final Fantasy: 8 Most Bittersweet Endings In The Games, Ranked
Not all Final Fantasy games end on entirely happy notes. Here are some examples that feature particularly bittersweet endings.
After an immense struggle where several political conspiracies are brought to light, Ashe secures Dalmascia's future and is celebrated by her people as she becomes a worthy queen who has proven herself time and time again. Depending on what jobs are assigned to Ashe, she can become a powerhouse and one of the strongest party members in the game.

A Warrior Of Light Who Saves The World And Becomes The Queen Of Tycoon
Final Fantasy 5

It's revealed that she's the heir to the kingdom of Tycoon, with her legacy being cemented after her father's untimely death. Over the course of the game's adventures, she meets Faris, who turns out to be her long-lost sister Sarisa. While they both head back to Tycoon after defeating Exdeath, Faris misses the life of piracy and leaves Tycoon, leaving Lenna as the sole queen to rule her kingdom.
