The game veered away from the studio's single-player expertise and instead utilized a live service model, a move that proved divisive, with many other live service titles falling off the tracks since.
While Rocksteady supported Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with some post-launch content, including cosmetics and new playable villains, the game wasn't able to overcome its poor launch. It received four seasons that each added a new character to the game, including the Joker, Mrs. Freeze, Lawless, and Deathstroke. However, sentiment surrounding the game wasn't improving, leading to Kill the Justice League's shutdown not even one year after its launch, in January 2025. While support has ended, the game remains playable both online and offline.

Gamers who want a little extra can grab Kill the Justice League's Deluxe Edition for only $4.66 to get a set of Justice League outfits, several Notorious weapons, and other items. The offer ends in just a few days, on August 22, so those who've been holding off for a super-deep sale should act quickly.
With James Gunn's Superman film kicking off the rebooted DC universe just over a month ago to much praise and excitement, it's fitting that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is getting its largest discount yet. While gamers who are looking for a solid ongoing live service experience should look elsewhere, fans of single-player games may still get something out of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, as its offline mode ensures it'll remain playable long after its servers are inevitably taken offline.
Unfortunately, WB Games has been struggling in recent years. Its co-op-focused Gotham Knights failed to generate much fanfare in late 2022, and Rocksteady's disappointing live service shift with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League didn't end up working out. Additionally, Monolith Productions' devastating Wonder Woman game cancellation and studio shuttering earlier this year only made WB Games' situation seem even bleaker. How WB turns things around with Rocksteady will be interesting to see, as current rumors suggest the studio is preparing a return to its single-player Batman roots with its next game. In the meantime, DC fans will be able to catch up on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for just a couple of dollars.
