Summer Game Fest has released the full list of participating companies for this year's event. Gaming fans will be able to watch the live showcase online or attend Summer Game Fest in person this June in Los Angeles.

The Electronic Software Association's E3 conference has traditionally been the biggest event in gaming for the past 20 years, but complications resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of sustained interest have led to the ESA canceling E3 two years in a row. And since gaming release news abhors a vacuum, former ESA member Geoff Keighley has taken the ESA's place as the preeminent source of industry updates and reveals, hosting various events that draw some of gaming's biggest companies. One such event is Summer Game Fest, which will put on its fourth showcase this June.

E3's most recent conferences pivoted away from highlighting industry leaders, and Keighley appears to be rectifying that. Since its 2020 debut, Summer Game Fest has grown in esteem, with its 2022 showcase proving the most popular yet. And the event continues to increase in scope, as evidenced by the industry leaders who will participate this summer and by Keighley's inaugural attempt at making it an in-person showcase.

Fans reacting to the guest list online are getting their hopes up for a Resident Evil announcement from Capcom – either some details about the upcoming Resident Evil 9 or perhaps finally a Code: Veronica remake. And the grouping of both Disney and Square Enix has some fans itching for a Kingdom Hearts reveal, though they probably can at least count on some new footage from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Fans also are hoping they'll get more information on the Last of Us multiplayer game from Playstation.

Summer Game Fest will take place on June 8.
