Free-to-play action MMORPG Summoners War: Chronicles is the latest entry in the franchise that originated on mobile devices, but has now made the jump to PC for players to game on a much larger screen. Despite the move to bigger hardware, the game is still addicting with its collect-a-thon gacha mechanics, colorful graphics, and large scale battles.

The ability to change monsters is crucial in Summoners War: Chronicles, as players will need to switch monsters in and out depending on the enemies. Each region hosts enemies with different types of elements, such as fire, wind, and water. That means it is up to players to make the best team possible to back up and help out their starter characters in battle, especially in dungeons where failure means having to try again. This guide will help players change the monsters within their teams both in and out of battle.

How To Change Monsters

To change monsters, players first have to tap or click on the menu button while in gameplay. The Menu icon is represented by four white squares that is a square in itself, and is located in the top right corner of the screen. On the right side of the screen, select the Monster icon. The Monster menu allows players to view their monster roster, apply EXP Potions to level up, upgrade skills, evolve, or awaken them.

Under Info, select the Composition option from the list on the right of the monster. Alternatively, players can skip those menus by selecting the white book icon next to the starter character's face and health bar while in gameplay.

The entire roster of available monsters will be shown alongside three slots already taken by the current monsters equipped. The list can be sorted through various filters to quickly get the best monsters. Select the portraits of the equipped monster to remove each, and then select a monster from the list to replace them.

Tap or click on the OK button at the bottom of the screen to confirm the replacement monsters. Changing monsters while in a battle will cost mana to replace them, and the number required to make the switch will be shown in the OK button alongside the player's current mana bar as it is auto-battling. It does not cost any mana to change monsters outside of combat, so it is best to make any changes beforehand or move outside the battle to make the switch if absolutely necessary.

Summoners War: Chronicles is now available on Android, iOS, and PC.
