Nintendo has released a new update for Super Mario Party Jamboree, addressing various issues players have had with the game. While this update does not add new content, it should create a more stable gameplay experience ahead of the release of the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree on July 24.

Released on October 17, 2024, Super Mario Party Jamboree is the latest installment in the popular party series. While the original Switch is home to three new Mario Party games, Jamboree provides fans with the largest entry to date. The game has over 110 minigames and 22 characters to choose from. In addition, Super Mario Party Jamboree includes new and classic boards, along with fresh modes to keep the party exciting for players. Following its launch, several updates have already been released that address bugs and connection issues. However, with a Switch 2 Edition coming out soon, Nintendo has looked to address even more existing problems.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Reveals Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrades and Changes

Nintendo details the Super Mario Party Jamboree upgrades that will be introduced in the upcoming Switch 2 edition of the 2024 game.

On June 17, Nintendo released a new update for Super Mario Party Jamboree, moving the game to Version 2.0.0. While not massive in scope, it does address various problems some players have faced. Specifically, the patch fixed a bug that caused some players to not earn an achievement related to Boswer Kaboom Squad. In addition, the developer resolved an issue with Party-Planner Trek that had caused progression to be blocked in certain situations. Several other bugs related to Super Mario Party Jamboree's minigames were squashed thanks to the update. In particular, a bizarre bug that let CPUs be controlled by unused controllers was fixed. Beyond the fixes listed in the patch notes, other non-specific improvements were made to improve gameplay.

It is nice to see Super Mario Party Jamboree get more bug fixes ahead of the release of the Switch 2 Edition. Costing $79.99, this version of the game adds Jamboree TV, a game show-like mode that supports the Switch 2 Camera accessory. In addition, new minigames will be included, along with improvements to resolution and frame rate. It is worth noting that existing Super Mario Party Jamboree owners can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for $19.99.

This update to Super Mario Party Jamboree comes as Nintendo has released updates for some of its other first-party games on Switch 2. Specifically, Mario Kart World received a new update, fixing various bugs. In addition, the Switch 2 Editions of Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild were updated to improve the gameplay experience.

Latest update: Ver. 2.0.0 (Released June 17, 2025)
