Super Mario RPG: Goomba Thumping Rewards

After getting through the Forest Maze and the events at Rose Town, Super Mario RPG players can enter an area called Pipe Vaults to find a mole with a Goomba Thumping minigame. This guide will show players where to find the mole's challenge and the rewards for fully completing it.

Where's the Goomba Thumping Game?

Enter the Pipe Vault location, which is to the left of Rose Town on the world map. If the area isn't accessible yet, continue the main story. Once there, follow these steps to get to the mole man:

Enter the first pipe you see.
This will bring players to a lava area. Jump over the fire to reach the next section.
Avoid the enemies and enter the last pipe.
In the next room with the six pipes in a row, enter the second to last one with the Piranha Plant popping out.
This will bring players to the Goomba Thumping room.

Goomba Thumping Explained and Rewards

The mole's Goomba Thumping challenge in Super Mario RPG will require players to jump on top of Goombas that are coming in and out of green pipes. Normal Goombas are worth one point; gold ones are worth three points, and if players hit a spiky enemy, they'll lose a point. The challenge's target scores are pretty easy to overcome, especially the first few, but in order to achieve all prizes, being fast and chaining jumps might be required.

The minigame's first target score will be 20 and will go all the way up to 30. The prizes for reaching each score are as follows.

Players will need to cough up some coins in order to partake in the challenge. Also, once players hit the 30 Target Score, the rest of the prizes will just be Frog Coins. It's also worth noting that the prizes cannot be obtained in a single run, so players must repeat the process a couple of times to get everything.
