Aside from the obvious graphical update, the remake of Super Mario RPG added all sorts of quality of life updates to the game since it first released on the SNES back in 1996. Yet despite all the updates and the inclusion of an easier difficulty, there are some things that remain the same.

A good example of this is how the game doesn't always explain what some items are used for. Take the Nuture Ring, for example, which is an accessory that players get later on in the game. Unlike most items, the game is very vague as to what this accessory even does.

How to Get the Nurture Ring

The Nurture Ring is an accessory that players can acquire in the Marrymore Hotel. It can be purchased for 145 coins. There are no stats listed for the accessory and the description is vague. If players do not have Peach yet they won't even see Nurture Ring in their inventory. This is not a bug.

How to Use the Nurture Ring

In order to use the Nurture Ring, Super Mario RPG players will first need to have advanced far enough into the story to have Peach as a playable character in the party. At this point, players will be able to see the Nurture Ring in their inventory and equip it to her. Even with the ring equipped, it will seem like the ring doesn't do anything at first.

This is where the Mystery Egg comes in. Earlier on in the game, players will encounter a Toad in Moleville that sells some items with staggeringly high price tags. He sells players the Mystery Egg for 200 coins. Unlike the Nurture Ring, the Mystery Egg is an item that cannot be equipped.

Once players have both, they should have Peach in the active party when in combat. On Peach's turn, while she has the Nurture Ring equipped, go to items and have her use the Mystery Egg. She will hold it out and a heart will appear above the egg. Repeat this nine more times and the egg will hatch into a floating lamb and the Mystery Egg will turn into Lamb's Lure.

Lamb's Lure is an item that can be used by anyone in the party and it has a chance to instantly remove any enemy from the field, but players get no EXP or coins. Once the Mystery Egg has been transformed into Lamb's Lure, Peach does not need to keep the Nurture Ring equipped.
