The DreadOut series is making a comeback on the PS5 and Nintendo Switch with a remastered collection. The DreadOut games come from Indonesian indie developer Digital Happiness. These horror games all focus on Linda, a high-schooler trapped in different haunted areas, forced to explore locations and battle ghosts using her phone and her camera. Releasing a decade ago to mixed reception, DreadOut seems somewhat forgotten by gamers, outside of the celebration of the series' 10th anniversary on Steam.

Gamers may recognize DreadOut to be particularly reminiscent of the cult-classic Fatal Frame series. In both franchises, players hunt ghosts using special cameras . Players who loved Fatal Frame's unique spin on the survival-horror genre may find even more to enjoy in DreadOut's take on the idea.
