- Leakers accurately predicted the Switch 2 reveal date.
- The same leakers have suggested Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to the Switch 2.
- Since they were right before, it's easier to believe that Halo could indeed be coming to the Switch 2.
The reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 has made it easier to believe the leaks claiming Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to the console. Prior to Nintendo officially unveiling the Switch 2, various leakers sounded off on the company's plans for the console's big reveal. While leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, one leaker's information was proven to be right on the money.
Leaker Nate the Hate claimed that the Switch 2 reveal would happen on January 16, and as it turns out, his prediction was correct. While it could have simply been a coincidence, it still adds credibility to other claims made about the upcoming console, like what games may be in development for the Switch 2.
Switch 2 Speculated to Be 'Significantly More Powerful' than Switch 1
Early signs suggest that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will provide a significant performance upgrade over the original Switch hardware.
Nate the Hate and others have claimed that they've heard Halo: The Master Chief Collection is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. Since these insiders were correct about the Switch 2 reveal date, it does make it easier to believe that they are correct about Halo coming to Switch 2 as well. With Halo being Microsoft's flagship franchise, some may scoff at the idea of The Master Chief Collection releasing on a competing console, but if the leaks are accurate, that's exactly what's happening.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is Rumored for the Switch 2
For Nintendo diehards that may have never played a Halo game, The Master Chief Collection would be the perfect way to dive in to the series. For those unfamiliar with the collection, it bundles remastered versions of Halo 1 and Halo 2 (with the option to play with original graphics) with Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. Basically, it gives fans the ability to play almost all the main series Halo games and two beloved spin-offs in one package. Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite are missing from The Master Chief Collection, but there's always a chance those games could either be added to the lineup or get their own ports to the Switch 2 down the line.
Years ago, it would have been unheard of for Halo to jump ship to competing consoles like the Switch 2, but Microsoft is adopting a multi-platform strategy for its games. While Xbox has insisted that it will continue producing hardware and that a next-generation console is in development, it seems that it is trying to maximize the potential profit it can get from software sales. Bringing Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the Switch 2 would definitely make some waves, and it will be very interesting to see if this particular leak comes true like the other Switch 2 leaks.
