Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has quite a complex series of quests that require players to gather tons of material, craft specific items, gear, and weapons, or fix parts of the Village on the island of Avalon. And for that, players will need Wood, one of the most basic resources in the game.
How to Get Rose, Sage, and Feather in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
The All-Mother’s Shrine near the beach demands an offering of Rose, Sage, and Feather in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
So, in this guide, players will find everything they need to know about how to start Repairing the Deck in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, as well as how to get more wood to complete this quest fast.
How To Start Repairing The Deck In Tainted Grail The Fall Of Avalon
To start Repairing the Deck, players need to travel to the lower left side of the fortress in the Horns of the South, then descend the scaffolding onto the road that leads to the village. Just upon reaching the Village's entrance, they will be stopped by Keeper Tiernan, who will ask them 'not to cause trouble.'
Players can then ask Tiernan if he needs help with anything, and a series of quests to renew the Village will start with Repairing the Deck, a simple task that involves getting a 'not so simple' to get resource. Approaching the designated area will show players that they need 50 Wood to complete this task. So, the next step would be to procure some wood to conduct the repairs and finish this quest.
Where To Get Wood In Tainted Grail The Fall Of Avalon
As players might have guessed by now, wood might be a common resource, but it is a scarce one that can only be obtained by drops from containers, loot, and enemies, by purchasing it from certain vendors, and by chopping it with the Woodcutting Axe.
In the first case, drops are not particularly random. Some containers have an affixed loot inside, while others don't. Enemies can drop unidentified items during the Wyrdness hours of the night, and upon identifying them in the campfire, these drops can yield resources, including wood.
Finally, if players have a Woodcutting Axe, they can approach certain spots named Lumbering Spots in settlements and start chopping wood once per (in-game) day. The amount of wood chopped each time will be randomized, and each chop yields x2 wood. Players can find Lumbering Spots in the following locations:
- The Horns of the South fortress, next to the shooting range.
- Margh's Hunter Tower, north of the fortress, following the path to the Cementery.
- Cuanacht, in the Lower City.
Each swing of the axe will cost 33.33% of the total stamina, so players need to rest every three chops. Players can also drink a Mad Dog Elixir (which reduces health by 60% but locks stamina at 100% for 20 seconds) to speed up the process, but it is not entirely necessary, since the yield doesn't depend on how fast players can chop.
How to Use Weapon and Armor Relics in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Weapon and armor Relics can be found fairly early on in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, but there is no in-game prompt on how to use them
Players can purchase a limited amount of wood from the vendors each day, but there's also a trick that can be used to accelerate the process. In the Horns of the South fortress, there's a campfire next to the Keeper's blacksmith (Osbryth). Rest there for 24 hours, purchase wood (up to 30 pieces) from the blacksmith, then repeat to have as much wood as needed.
Of course, the safest and fastest way to get enough wood to repair the Deck is to purchase it from vendors, but if players are not focusing on Practicality, the prices of the materials (wood included) might be higher than anticipated. So, better to get that Woodcutting Axe and chop wood than to waste precious coins. Unless there's no other option, and players need lots of materials.
How To Complete Repairing the Deck Quest
Once players have 50 wood, they should go back to the pier in the Village and simply interact with the broken deck. This will start a brief cutscene, and the deck will be repaired.
After Repairing the Deck, go back to Tiernan to report, and if they want to, they can start Repairing the Village Quest, which requires at least 100 wood. So, now that players know how to get the wood they require, they should
