When players first set foot in Tamahiko Town, they'll notice the 10 shops that surround the main square. Each business has its own focus, which leads to a fun and varied collection of minigames. On top of these initial shops, there are three secret shops in Tamagotchi Plaza that gamers can unlock, and they'll give them access to even more minigames to try out.

How to Unlock the Collab and Secret Shops in Tamagotchi Plaza

There are additional shops for players to unlock in Tamagotchi Plaza. Some are secret shops, which can only be unlocked with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade of Tamagotchi Plaza, and others are collab shops that result from two businesses merging into one and are available to everyone but can only be unlocked if players meet certain requirements.

In the standard version of Tamagotchi Plaza, there are 10 shops and two collab shops. Players who own the Switch 2 edition of the game have access to these shops, plus two secret shops, which are later merged to create a bonus shop. Here is how players can unlock the secret Nintendo Switch 2 shops as well as the collab shops:

How to Unlock Tamagotchi Plaza Secret Shops

In order to get access to the secret shops, players must purchase Tamagotchi Plaza Switch 2 Edition, and those who already own the base game will have to buy the Upgrade Pack separately. While the base game is available on Switch, the upgrade is exclusive to the Switch 2 system.

If the Switch 2 upgrade is installed, the shops will be accessible once players have tried the 10 base game minigames. After they've done this, they will watch a short cutscene hinting towards the location of the secret shop. Gamers will be able to find the Sushi and Shuriken shops in the plaza in an alley located between the player's house and the Personal Training Gym. The king and princess will be standing nearby, and they must talk to them to unlock the shops and their minigames.

How to Unlock Tamagotchi Plaza Collab Secret Shops

There are certain shops in Tamagotchi Plaza that are a result of two businesses coming together and joining forces to create a new shop that merges and blends their concepts together.

For a collab shop to appear in Tamagotchi Plaza, players must reach Metchi status in all shops (2 Stars) and get the original businesses to Gotchi status (3 Stars). Here are the shops that can start collab secret shops in Tamagotchi Plaza:

Afternoon Tea Shop + The Night Pool = Afternoon Pool
Galette Shop + Eyewear Shop = Glasses Galette Shop
Shuriken Shop + Sushi Shop = Sushi Shuriken Shop

At the moment of writing, we have not figured out how to unlock the collab secret shop that combines the Sushi and Shuriken shops, as these shops do not have visible ranks.

Players can unlock up to 15 shops in Tamagotchi Plaza, and each one has a fun minigame for players to master, as the difficulty will increase as they rank up and upgrade each business.
