The Best War Games can exclusively share a new clip from the first episode of Taskmaster Season 20. This early sneak peek at the upcoming episode arrives just hours ahead of its scheduled premiere on Channel 4 and YouTube.

A British comedy panel show created by Alex Horne, Taskmaster has been going strong for over a decade now, averaging two seasons per year. After the chaos that was Taskmaster Season 19 wrapped up in early July 2025, Channel 4 announced its follow-up for the September to November period. The first episode is scheduled to premiere later today, at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST.

Taskmaster Teases Greg Davies and Alex Horne's Banter in Season 20

In the lead-up to the September 11 premiere, Channel 4 shared a preview of the upcoming episode, which The Best War Games can exclusively reveal. The 40-second sneak peek shows a Taskmaster staple: banter between Alex Horne and host Greg Davies.

The clip also includes a brief look at the cast who will be competing in Season 20. While Taskmaster Season 19 featured its first-ever American contestant, Jason Mantzoukas, the upcoming series has an all-British lineup: Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith and Sanjeev Bhaskar. The roster is a combination of rising stand-ups and established names from television. Shearsmith co-created and starred in BBC's Inside No. 9 and The League of Gentlemen, while Bhaskar is known for his sketch hit Goodness Gracious Me, sitcom The Kumars at No. 42, and ITV crime drama Unforgotten.

Adam is a panel show regular who co-hosts women's football podcast Big Kick Energy, whereas Ellis is known for Radio 4 sitcom Phil Ellis Is Trying. Magliano, the youngest Taskmaster contestant in Season 20, has several stand-up shows—including Absolutely No Worries If Not and I Can't Believe You've Done This—and podcast co-hosting credits to her name. She has also written for BBC Two comedy New World Order, BBC Radio 4 Extra sketch show Newsjack, BBC Radio 4 comedy The Now Show, BBC panel show Have I Got News for You, and popular YouTube interview show Chicken Shop Date, hosted by Amelia Dimoldenberg.

Taskmaster Season 20 Marks a Series First

Taskmaster Season 20 will run for 10 episodes, airing weekly, with the finale scheduled for November 13. In previous years, new episodes were uploaded to YouTube a day after the initial Channel 4 broadcast. Conversely, Season 20 will be the first to air day-and-date in the United States. The move is likely to additionally boost the show's already massive online presence, which includes 1.96 million YouTube subscribers as of September 11.
