What Should You Do When A Technician Cannot Install An Upgrade In Stalker 2?

After starting up Stalker 2, the first base that players will be visiting in the Lesser Zone will be Zalissya. The technician in Zalissya is called Lens, and he can repair and upgrade almost all the weapons and gear you throw at him.

However, if you explore the region outside of missions, you're bound to stumble upon some higher-level gear. Bringing it back to Lens will often give the message that the technician cannot install an upgrade to it. When this happens, players should visit other technicians.

Visit Another Technician with Higher Equipment Expertise

To visit other technicians in Stalker 2, players will have to travel to another region in the game. For players who've just started the game, they'll have to complete the "Behind Seven Seals" main mission to open up access to other regions on the map. Depending on your choices in this mission, players will either head over to the Chemical Plant or the Garbage regions.

In all regions you visit, you'll find a base with a technician ready to take on your upgrade or repair requests. For example, when traveling to the Garbage region, players can find Diode, who's a technician at the Slag Heap with greater equipment expertise. So, it's highly likely that he'll be able to upgrade your weapons that Lens couldn't without giving you the "Technician cannot install the upgrade" message in Stalker 2.
