Tekken 8 has revealed that it plans to ban players who leave matches on purpose. Released earlier this year, Tekken 8 brings a new chapter of the iconic franchise. But while the game has numerous new features for the community to enjoy, like new mechanics and characters, Tekken 8 isn't immune to problems.

Although Tekken 8 is a huge success, there have been growing complaints about players leaving matches to avoid losing progress towards the next rank. Rage quitters have been a major nuisance for Tekken 8 players, and now Bandai Namco recently revealed its plans to deal with those who are disrupting games on purpose.

Tekken 8 revealed that it plans to ban players who quit matches on purpose. During the Tekken Talk Live broadcast, Tekken 8 director Katsuhiro Harada and producer Michael Murray explained that despite the desire, it's not a simple matter, as each country has its own legal protection. Because of this, the Tekken 8 development team is being extra careful about how to deal with these players. Despite the legal aspect, Harada and Murray confirmed that they are working on a way to "remove these people from the game service before proceeding with the bans," a feature they say is really coming to Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 Reveals Plans for Rage Quitters and More

While there's no info on when Tekken 8 will start banning rage quitters, Harada acknowledged that not everybody leaves matches maliciously, which can happen, for example, due to connection issues. Murray added that while there are plans to ban rage quitters from Tekken 8, players "won't be banned for one time" when they leave a match. Tekken 8 devs confirmed plans to update the disconnect rate meter displayed on each player's profile, making it more accurate. The broadcast about Tekken 8's post-launch content also noted the importance of players continuing to report rage quitters, so that "the more they are reported, the higher they will be on the list."

In addition to news of measures to combat toxicity, the Tekken Talk Live broadcast revealed the post-launch roadmap for Tekken 8. The development team revealed new Tekken 8 outfits for Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Jun Kazama, and Kazuya Mishima, all based on the fighters' appearances in other games in the series. The broadcast showed the main menu with Eddy Gordo, Tekken 8's first DLC character, and it was said that the DLC fighters will get story expansions telling how they fit into the game's universe.
