Tekken 8 has released a new update, and one of the highlights of the new patch is the correction of the chest parameters of female characters. Fighting games have many iconic female characters, and it's no different in Tekken 8. Girls have been a striking presence in the newest entry in the franchise, writing their own stories while delivering powerful blows.
In addition to being considered one of the strongest Tekken female characters, Nina Williams is one of the most beloved fighters among fans. The silent assassin debuted in the first game and returned in Tekken 8 alongside her younger sister, Anna Williams, another familiar name with whom she has an infamous rivalry. Jun Kazama made her debut in Tekken 2, and while Jin Kazama's mother and Kazuya Mishima's wife have only made cameos since then, she is once again playable in the 2024 game. Female fighters are beloved by Tekken 8 fans, and now they are one of the highlights of the game's latest patch.
Tekken 8's Slow Adoption of Guest Characters is a Far Cry From Tekken 7
Although Tekken 8 has finally received its first guest character, it took a lot longer to get any than its immediate predecessor Tekken 7.
Tekken 8 released update 2.05 on September 2, and one of the most notable adjustments has been the correction of the bust parameters of female characters. On Twitter, Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada posted two GIFs, the first showing the changes in practice, with the fighters displaying correct body proportions. The second GIF addressed the popular character Asuka Kazama and, more specifically, her neckline, which had only received fine-tuning at that time. According to Harada, applying all the fixes at once would cause the Tekken 8 fighter model to become unstable.
Another change besides the new visual standards for female characters is the introduction of the win rate feature. With it, players will be able to see their win rates against all characters in ranked matches. Although it does not include Season 1 data, the feature aims to help players create strategies against the Tekken 8 fighters they have the most difficulty fighting. Another change targeted hitboxes and collision detection, correcting strange behaviors. The in-game store added the Devil Jin Costume 01 Set and is offering discounts on specific character costumes for a limited time.
While patch 2.05 is not super extensive and should not profoundly impact the Tekken 8 meta, fans may receive good news soon. There is speculation that Tekken 8 could be released for Switch 2, which would bring the game to the console that already runs other popular fighting titles like Street Fighter 6 and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, with Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection slated to launch on September 30. Although the information is a rumor, it is something that could boost the game's popularity, attracting new fans.
