Christopher Nolan's upcoming Tenet film is one of the most highly anticipated films of the Summer. And in line with Nolan's MO, the movie's plot is set to be confusing and filled with twists.
John David Washington will star in Tenet, as the film will release on July 17. He says that the movie's storyline was not easy to track, and he and the rest of the cast had to work hard at understanding the plot while filming.
Washington said, during an interview after the surprise new Tenet trailer dropped inside of Fortnite, that he had questions for Nolan every day, attempting to get clarification so that he could perform in his role as best as possible. Of the trailer, Washington said that Nolan was able to sprinkle breadcrumbs and nuggets of information about the film's plot that he was genuinely surprised snuck their way in.
It was important that the actors could track the story correctly, so we could tell it the best way we could, and he was very patient with us. I say that very politely.
Christopher Nolan has an impressive ability of creating stories with a sense of realism, even if the idea of the story is outlandish. Part of what makes his movies believable are the special effects. In The Dark Knight, Nolan had an entire building literally blow up for the effect, and in Tenet he crashed a real airplane.
There is still a slight chance that Tenet gets pushed back thanks to the Coronavirus, which would certainly be a bummer. However, Nolan is planning to show one of his films inside of Fortnite later this summer, so if there are fans still stuck at home, a free movie inside the battle royale will be available.
Tenet remains scheduled to release in theaters on July 17.
