  • 10 Wood

Players can get wood by chopping down trees using their trusty axe.

  • 2 Iron or Lead Bar

Iron and Lead can be found on the ground or in caves as ores.

  • 1 Chain

Players will need a Furnace to smelt the Iron or Lead ore into bars. Then, an Anvil is needed to turn the bars into Chains.

The player must use the Workbench to make a Sawmill when all the items are gathered.

The Sawmill will need to be placed on solid blocks or a platform, requiring three blocks of space vertically and three blocks horizontally.

Players need to update their game to make a Sawmill. Terraria has to be running version 1.0.6.1 for players to be make a Sawmill.

  1. Using the Wrong Ores

Players may be using the wrong ores to make a Sawmill. Players will need Iron or Lead ores, which must be smelted into Iron or Lead Bars to make a Chain to complete the recipe.

  1. Placing the Sawmill Near Other Crafting Stations

Placing the Sawmill near other crafting stations will prevent players from making the Sawmill. For this reason, players should place the Sawmill away from crafting stations to fix the problem.

Players should now be able to make a Sawmill to craft furniture like Tables, Bookcases, Bathtubs, and Weapon Racks. Most importantly, players will now be able to progress further in the story as they will not be able to do so without a Sawmill.
