Developer Re-Logic has unfortunately announced to players that the long-awaited Terraria update 1.4.5 still doesn’t have a clear release date. That said, it’s not all bad news, as Re-Logic has confirmed that some Palworld content is coming to Terraria with update 1.4.5.

Terraria is a 2D action-adventure sandbox game where players explore procedurally generated worlds to mine resources, craft tools, build structures, and face off against various enemies and bosses along the way. The game first came out in 2011 and has evolved a lot since then, thanks to Re-Logic’s work. Terraria has seen massive success across all platforms, selling over 60 million copies and making it one of the best-selling and most enduring indie games to date. For a while now, Terraria players have been waiting for the release of update 1.4.5, which is a major patch that promises to introduce a wealth of content and features, like new weapons, quality-of-life upgrades, enhanced lighting, crossovers with other games, and much more. Now, Re-Logic has news regarding the long-awaited update.

It may have been over 13 years since it first released, but Terraria maintains its status as a title which invites endless replayability.

In a blog post, the developer announced that it still can’t provide a specific release date for Terraria’s update 1.4.5. Re-Logic explained that the team is working hard and that “every day is one day closer,” but the studio doesn’t want to just announce a date and then be tied to it. The developer promises the update will be worth the wait, saying it is working to deliver “a quality update for everyone,” but without putting the team through crunch to rush it out. Despite the disappointing news, Re-Logic did offer a glimpse at some of Terraria’s features coming in the update.

Terraria Update 1.4.5 Still Lacks a Clear Release Date

As fans may have already seen, monster-taming game Palworld has just launched a crossover with Terraria called “Tides of Terraria,” bringing a lot of elements from the 2D indie hit to Palworld’s universe. Now, Re-Logic wants to go the other way around and bring Palworld elements to Terraria, confirming this will happen in update 1.4.5. The developer shared a GIF showing Pal Digtoise recreated in Terraria’s style, helping the player dig the soil. But this is just one example, as the developer plans to bring “your favorite Pals to life in the world of Terraria!”

On top of all this, on July 1, there will be a new tModLoader update, adding some useful features to enable users to continue creating impressive Terraria mods. While some players may be disappointed to hear the update still isn’t close—especially after so many delays—Re-Logic has reassured fans that it’s committed to bringing it out as soon as possible, along with the Palworld crossover.
