Bethesda shared the patch notes for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered's June 2025 update. Identified by version number 1.1, the new release promises to fix some Oblivion Remastered quest bugs, UI issues, and crashes, among other problems.

Developed by Virtuos, the modernized version of TES 4: Oblivion was shadow-dropped on April 22. While the remaster has received no major updates since then, Bethesda later clarified that several were in the works, starting with one that's largely geared toward fixing bugs and technical issues.

An infamous bug from the original game can severely affect an Oblivion Remastered playthrough if players don't take the necessary precautions.

The bug-fixing update is now available to select PC players, having launched in Steam Beta on June 5. The new build updates the RPG to version 1.1 and includes more than 50 fixes, addressing issues with Oblivion Remastered’s quests, gameplay systems, UI, and other elements. It also enables a few previously unsupported console commands—ToggleHudVisibility and ShowHud—in addition to introducing fixes for nearly a dozen instances of crashes.

Among the most niche problems addressed in this release is an Xbox Cloud Gaming bug that caused "mirroring settings from PC to Xbox," which was ostensibly only experienced by players who jump between platforms. Fixes for several infinite loading screen issues are also part of the package, together with tweaks that resolve some PC-specific Oblivion Remastered bugs, like the game's tendency to freeze when Alt-Tabbing out of it on Windows. Small display resolution sizes should now show correctly in windowed mode, and the autosave feature should no longer create new save groups indefinitely. The new patch also addresses some progression blockers in The Battle for Kvatch, A Knife in the Dark, and The Sunken One, among several other quests.

The Steam version of Oblivion Remastered needs to be switched to the beta channel to download this update. Doing so is as simple as right-clicking the game in one's Steam library, selecting Properties, then navigating to the Betas tab in the small window that pops up. The following screen contains a dropdown menu with a single option, aptly titled "[beta]." After it's selected, Steam will automatically download the new build of the game.

The 1.1 update is planned to leave beta in a week's time, hitting the stable channel on both PC and consoles next Wednesday, June 11. Separately, Virtuos is currently also working on another patch, which is planned to focus on a variety of performance improvements. More details about its contents and timing are promised to arrive in the weeks ahead.
