There are two clans that players will be able to choose between while playing Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, and both will be introduced to them around the 5-minute mark — shortly after they start playing the game.

Players won’t be able to pick a clan until they have progressed their reputation up to Level 12. This is when they will be able to meet either clan at their HQ. Once a player makes their choice, they will not be locked into that choice for the entirety of the game; they will be able to change their chosen clan at any point, but not without a cost.

Which Clan Should You Choose In Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown?

New players to the game may have several things they wish to know early, such as wondering what benefits come with selecting their clan, or what they may be missing out on if they choose the 'wrong' one. Each player's choice of clan will not affect the gameplay, but rather what cosmetics they receive. Each clan has their own style, with the Sharps being the more elite of the two, and the streets being the more urban-chic.

Each of these clans will have different rewards as you increase your influence with them, gaining new clothing items and stickers in the process. Players will also periodically have racing duels against prominent members of the clan they choose. As players increase their influence within the clan and win duels, they will return to the clan HQ to speak with their representative to claim their rewards.

Choosing a clan is purely a single player element. You do not have to worry if you and a friend can play together if you select opposing clans.

Choose The Sharps Clan If You Like...

  • Sharp dressers
  • Organization and sophistication
  • Philosophy founded on structured order

The Sharps are everything one would expect from an organization at the top of their game. Their HQ resembles that of a prestigious hotel lounge, with them living a lavished lifestyle of luxury and harboring an air of sophistication. Being welcomed into their group is a very formal ordeal and makes the player feel like they are becoming part of something greater. Players will get fancy attire and emit a presence of wealth.

Choose The Streets Clan If You Like...

  • Street fashion
  • Club scene with a lively attitude
  • Philosophy founded on freedom

The Streets do not define themselves by how much money they have. Instead, they bask in expression and freedom with their HQ styled like a nightclub. Joining the Streets feels more like the player is proving themselves as an individual, rather than being welcomed into a larger elite group. Players will get plenty of gear that makes them feel more like a flashy street racer.

Should You Change Clans In Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown?

Each clan will have 50 levels to climb, and this will give players a lot of influence. Once a player has reached the max level with a clan, they can continue to gain influence to get clan chests for additional rewards. Changing clans means abandoning all progress made with the currently selected one. This means a player should first get all the rewards from their initial chosen clan before they decide to make the switch.

The two main benefits of a player switching clans after fully completing their previous choice are that they will unlock both stylish and urban-style clothing unlockables, and they will also be able to enjoy the cinematics and lore elements offered by both clans in this amazing open-world racing game.

The optimal approach is to first start with the clan that aesthetically looks the most appealing, as this will unlock rewards players will prefer the look of earlier. Once you hit Level 50 and have obtained the final rewards, switch to the other clan to get all of their rewards, and then stick with them to keep earning chests.

It is worth noting that players will have the option of selecting a Special Edition of the game based on either clan for a wide range of extra rewards — such as cars, stickers, and a Solar Premium Pass.
