Earlier this week, the official Test Drive Unlimited account unveiled a countdown that has finally ended. Upon accessing the countdown site, visitors were greeted by Vivian Hughes, an organizer of the Solar Crown competition. The site allowed players to complete some missions and unlock cars in the digital garage while Vivian provided more insight into the world of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. Once the countdown finished, the website's main page released the trailer.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will take place in Hong Kong on a 1:1 scale, accurately reproducing the city. The game was first announced in 2020, and the long development time led to the abandonment of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, as KT Racing decided to optimize Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for the current-gen last year. Publisher Nacon hasn't commented on the Switch version, but it's speculated that it has also been canceled. It remains to be seen if Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will arrive on the Switch 2 in the future.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is already available for pre-order and offers a variety of version options to cater to different preferences. In addition to the Standard edition, there are the Silver Streets Edition and Silver Sharps Edition, each guaranteeing a pack related to the respective clan, Beta access, and 2 days early access. The Gold Edition, the most comprehensive, includes the two previous tiers, adds a Solar Content Pack, VIP Beta access, and 7 days early access.
