That '90s Show season 2 was confirmed by Netflix two weeks after the sequel to That '70s Show premiered. Furthermore, the second season of That '90s Show will feature more episodes than the first.

Netflix's That '90s Show reunited audiences with Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith as Kitty and Red Forman, respectively. However, this time the story focused on Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric and Donna from That '70 Show, as she spent the summer with her grandparents in Point Place, Wisconsin, experiencing the trials and tribulations of adolescence with a new generation of teenagers.

Netflix announced That '90s Show season 2 consists of 16 episodes, an increase from the ten-episode first season. "All of us at ‘That ‘90s Show’ were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season," said That '90s Show co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner Gregg Mettler. "We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!” Co-Creator and Executive Producer Lindsey Turner echoed those sentiments, saying, "We owe the fans, old and new, for taking the trip with us in the first season – and we can’t wait to be there with them in the second season."

Rupp and Reyn Doi, who plays Leia's friend Ozzie, were among the first That '90s Show cast members to react to the season 2 renewal. Doi even shared a That '90s Show season 2 teaser poster on Instagram, which Callie Haverda, who plays Leia, commented on with, "YESSSSSS." Rupp, Smith, Doi, and Haverda are expected to be joined by That '90s Show series regulars Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Sam Morelos, and Maxwell Acee Donovan when season 2 premieres, though a release date was not announced.

That '90s Show set up season 2 by establishing a love triangle between Leia, Jay Kelso, and Nate. Nate's long-term relationship with Nikki complicates matters, though the two have different opinions on how their future together might unfold. Meanwhile, Kitty got a new job, while Red seems content staying retired and keeping Leia's new friends at bay.

Needless to say, That '90s Show season 2 will probably feature plenty of drama to go with the comedy. Some people criticized That '90s Show, but it received positive reviews from most viewers. So, any flaws can be improved upon when Leia returns to spend another summer with Red and Kitty.

That '90s Show season 1 is available on Netflix.
