In the survival social game called The Alters, you will need to clone yourself over and over again in order to rebuild the crew of a failing mission. In order to do this, you will need to collect something called damaged Qubit chips so you can upgrade your quantum computer.

There are a grand total of three Qubit chips in the whole of The Alters, which means you can make a total of six alters to fill your base and help you to escape the deadly planet you are on. But you have to find each one and fix it first.

How to Fix Damaged Qubit Chips

In order to fix it, you will need to bring it back to your base in The Alters and speak with Jan Technician, asking him what to do about it. He will let you know that you can use the chips after fixing them in the workshop with 20 metals and 20 minerals. It will then take one hour of in-game time to finish, and then it can be installed in the quantum computer immediately. This will raise the level of your base, giving you access to more alters and better upgrades in the research tab.

All Qubit Damaged Chip Locations in Act 1 in The Alters

Once the base rolls to a stop, you can hop out and start exploring the first full area of the game. There is one damaged chip here in Act 1, and it can be found at the location below. It will be inside a small white box. Install this one as soon as possible so you can upgrade your base size in The Alters.

All Qubit Damaged Chip Locations in Act 2 in The Alters

The second act contains two different damaged chip locations. One of them is fairly close to the base, but the other is a little further out of the way and surrounded by several dangerous anomalies. Be careful as you head to get it, then take them both back to base and use the Qubit chip crafting recipe from The Alters on it.

If you have reached Act 3, you probably already know why there are no Qubit chips in this chapter of the story. Since the story is just about to come to a close, you will have all the alters that you can get. In order to see all the different alters and their stories, you will have to play through several times. There is no new game plus in The Alters, but having different Jans in your base will change things up quite a bit between playthroughs.
