The survival and social game called The Alters has some pretty dark undertones, and it doesn't take long for the dangers of the mission to catch up with everyone on board. This includes Molly the sheep, the beloved mascot of your journey so far.
At the beginning of Act 2 of The Alters, you will start to notice things going downhill for poor Molly, and you might be wondering if there is anything you can do to help the poor critter to keep her from meeting her fate.
The Alters: How Many Days
The Alters takes an unconventional approach to the survival genre, so many players may be curious if there is a day or time limit in the game.
Can Molly the Sheep Be Saved in Act 2 of The Alters?
The short answer to this is no. Molly is the catalyst for the crew to realize there is something wrong and kick starts the most challenging choice of the plot: whether to side with Lena and get the brain implants or choose the Tabula Rasa and Maxwell. Her death is imperative to the plot, and even Jan Scientist and Jan Doctor can't help her out, even if you have them both when you head to play.
Can You Pet the Sheep in The Alters?
Before Molly passes away, you can give her a pat. Just head into The Womb where she hangs out and use the interact button to give her a nice scratch on her head. In fact, this is an achievement in The Alters, so it's a good idea to do this before you lose her on the second or third day of Act 2.
Where Does Molly End Up After She Dies in The Alters?
You can visit Molly's grave after her autopsy is completed. The alters all gathered together to give their sheep friend as good a sendoff as they could, burying her near the ship and even carving her a little headstone. You can tell that having the animal on board boosted the alters' happiness.
Here is a map of where to find this location after the research on her body is complete:
Can You Make Another Sheep in The Alters?
Despite the fact that you made Molly in the first place and have been churning out alters of yourself, it doesn't appear that you have the ability to make a new sheep to replace her after she passes away. Perhaps this is because you used up the sheep DNA in the first round of creation, or maybe it's because the developers didn't think of it. As such, you and your growing crew of alters will need to continue on your journey without the fluffy friend you've all come to rely on.
