With so much material from the manhwa and web novel to adapt, it’s unclear just how far into the story the first season will go. However, though the progress of the story remains to be seen, one can make some educated guesses based on the pacing of the story so far.

How much the first season of The Beginning After The End will cover will depend on how strictly the adaptation sticks to the story versus how many changes are made to allow it to conform to this new medium. How Anime Adaptations Work

When trying to guess how much of the narrative will be adapted, we can compare The Beginning After The End to other series to see what pace it is trying to match. Let’s take another popular manwha adaptation: Solo Leveling. While the number of chapters adapted to each episode of the Solo Leveling anime would vary, a single episode could adapt anywhere from two to six chapters.

It’s reasonable to assume that The Beginning After The End would follow something similar to this pace since there is plenty of material to get through. Indeed, we see when looking at the first episode of the series that it stops midway through Chapter 5 of the manhwa. Five chapters in one episode might be a bit on the high end, but this makes sense given that this is the first episode of the series. Taking this into account, it seems more appropriate to estimate that four chapters would be a reasonable high-end average per episode for The Beginning After The End Season 1.

Now that we have estimated a likely adaptation pace, we just need to look at the number of episodes in the season to find out where the plot would stop. Season 1 of The Beginning After The End is confirmed to have a total of 24 episodes. If we just look at our pace estimate and extrapolate it further into the manwha, than Season 1 would have adapted a total of 96 chapters.

Again, if we compare this hypothetical pace to Solo Leveling it seems to track. The Solo Leveling anime in its two seasons of 25 episodes managed to adapt 110 chapters of its manwha.

Additional Factors to Consider

TBATE Would Need To Find a Good Stopping Place

Going by the raw numbers in our estimate, The Beginning of the End Season 1 would stop around Chapter 96. This would place the story at the beginning of the Magic Academy plot line where Arthur decides to become an interim professor. However, there are more factors to consider that may slow the progression of this adaptation down quite a bit.

One of these factors is that the anime has shown a willingness to expand on already existing material to create new content. We see this in episode 1 where King Grey’s backstory is given additional scenes to flesh out how brutal and warmongering he originally was. In the manwha, this backstory is mostly brushed over at the start, painting Grey in a more sympathetic light after he is assassinated. This new version shows Grey as more of a morally complicated character, setting himself up for redemption later as he learns the love of a family.

Another factor to consider is the adaptation structure itself. While running for 24 episodes, the anime will also have two cours. This means that both episode 12 and episode 24 would likely contain large climaxes that would end an arc and set up for a new one. Assuming the show follows this two cour structure for the first season, continues creating new content for the series, and ends on a good dramatic climax, then the actual pace would be much slower than 96 chapters.

“What had taken Virion decades to achieve had only taken me two and a half years. The Integrate Phase. -Arthur Leywin during the fight with the Elderwood Guardian.

Personally, I think a likely ending for for the first season would be just before the start of the Xyrus Academy arc when Arthur finishes his time as the adventurer called Note. The series could end with the climactic battle Arthur has with the giant Elderwood Guardian monster, in which he unleashes his beast will. This would make sense thematically and represent an end to his arc as an adventurer as he continues into the next phase of The Beginning After The End’s story.
