How do you get fans even more excited for a spin-off prequel based on The Boys? You put together a top-notch cast that includes beloved returning characters, that's how.

Deciding to go ahead with a television adaptation of The Boys comic book series has worked out wonderfully for Amazon's Prime Video. The Boys comic, which was created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, began in 2006 and ran through 2012. The original series ran for 72 issues, garnered three spin-off limited series, and even got an eight-issue epilogue series in 2020. Although the series was originally technically a DC comic (under the now-defunct WildStorm imprint), it was eventually taken over and distributed by Dynamite Entertainment, who let Ennis and Robertson run wild with the dark, satirical superhero comedy. Eric Kripke, best known for creating Supernatural, was given carte blanche to bring that chaotic energy to his adaptation of The Boys, and he certainly has done that. Kripke's television version of The Boys has become a breakout hit thanks to its unapologetic lampooning of superhero media and outrageous violence. It isn't afraid to get its hands dirty with politics, either.

‘I’m Kind Of Glad We’re Finishing’ The Boys Star On Wrapping Up The Show After Season 5

One of The Boys stars admitted that they were glad the show was ending after Season 5 because they didn’t want to overstay their welcome.

With production apparently getting underway later this month, The Boys prequel series Vought Rising has announced some more additions to its extensive cast. Ricky Staffieri, Brian J. Smith, Jorden Myrie, and Nicolò Pasetti have all been named as members of the Vought Rising cast list. The foursome is set to join a collection of actors that includes Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash, Elizabeth Posey, and Will Hochman.

Vought Rising is set to give diehard The Boys fans a look at the early days of Vought International. While little is known about the show in terms of firm details, it is reportedly set during the 1950s. Also, it should go without saying that fans of The Boys are very excited about Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash returning as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. But what about these other actors that have been brought aboard the series?

Will Hochman starred in five seasons of Blue Bloods and was seen most recently in Billy Crystal's psychological thriller series Before. Ricky Staffieri has been a bit player both in front of and behind the camera over the past decade, but has recently become a breakout member of The Bear's beloved cast. Brian J. Smith has been a television mainstay since breaking out on Stargate Universe over fifteen years ago. In the years since, he has starred on Sense8, Treadstone, Gossip Girl, and Class of '09. Elizabeth Posey is best recognized for her work on Euphoria and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Jorden Myrie has made a name for himself recently with standout turns in both Bridgerton and Sherwood. Nicolò Pasetti has appeared in shows like Industry and The Queen's Gambit as well as flimes like The Last Voyage of the Demeter.

The production team behind Vought Rising has been an interesting cast of diverse actors together for their prequel show. With little else known about the show, one can't help but wonder: will The Boys' spin-off all come together? Here's hoping.
