The truth about Black Iron and the Biophage outbreak that occurred there was revealed near the end of the seventh chapter of The Callisto Protocol. Predictably, however, things take a turn for the worst when Captain Ferris shows up and infects Dani. Though Jacob and Dani were able to escape from Captain Ferris, they are soon captured by security units and separated.
The eighth and final chapter of The Callisto Protocol, Tower, is one of the shorter chapters in the game. That said, the final chapter also throws a lot of Biophages at players and is a fairly difficult part of the game. To make sure they are fully prepared, players will need to scavenge for resources and upgrade their gear. Here is what players can expect as they go through the eighth chapter.
This walkthrough contains significant spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.
Leave the Cell
When the opening cutscene finishes and the door opens, walk outside the cell and move forward. There is a door nearby that will open when Callisto Protocol players approach it. Beyond this door, players will find all sorts of ammo and other supplies. This should be considered the first warning that a tough battle is ahead.
As Callisto Protocol players enter the server room they will be attacked once again by Two-Head. It is the same exact boss as the previous two times that players have fought it, so use the same strategy again to kill it. Grab the fuse from this area and go back to a nearby door that needs a replacement fuse. Upon walking through the door and proceeding down the hallway, a hologram of the Warden will start playing.
Deal with the Biophages that spawn in this hallway and then look for a door panel that can be opened with the shiv. In the next area, players will encounter groups of Biophages that also include the ones from the fifth chapter that explode.
This area is swarming with Biophages, so players will need to be very cautious with how they deal with all of them. Continue through a series of linear corridors to reach a vent to crawl though. On the other side is a door that can be opened with the shiv. Beyond this door are several side rooms with supplies and a Reforge station.
Fight Two-Head in the Lab
As Callisto Protocol players enter the open lab area, they will need to be prepared to deal with a large group of Biophages. To make matters more difficult, Two-Head shows up yet again. There are lots of spinning fans in this lab, so players should be cautious with where they are running while fighting Two-Head. There is no difference between this encounter with Two-Head and previous ones, so kill it and then scrounge for ammo and health as needed. When ready, proceed through the door labeled Research Checkpoint R001.
A security system will lock on to Callisto Protocol players, but it powers down shortly after. Keep moving and enter another lab area where there are several Biophages in tanks. After going through the door beyond that, a cutscene will play. Jacob finds out that the only way to cure Dani is by extracting a sample from the Warden's Alpha and using it to make an antidote. The cutscene ends as Dani wakes up, and Callisto Protocol players are free to continue down toward the elevator to the tower.
Within the Tower
As players get off of the elevator, they will immediately notice the drastic change in scenery. The scenery changes again as players enter Dani's memories of Europa and the Biophage outbreak that occurred there prior to the start of the game. During this sequence, players discover that Jacob was responsible for delivering the Biophage sample that resulted in the carnage on Europa.
After the cutscene ends, move toward the next door and proceed down the hallway. The final boss is just ahead, so players should make sure to use the nearby Reforge station to craft ammo or upgrade their weapons. Use the shiv to open the nearby door and a cutscene will play as Jacob confronts the Warden. As the cutscene ends, players come face to face with the Warden's Alpha, Captain Ferris.
Beat the Warden's Alpha
The fight against Captain Ferris starts off exactly the same as it did at the end of the previous chapter. Dodge his combo of attacks, and then unleash a melee combo on him. Use a gun at the end of the combo to get extra damage in. After doing enough damage, a cutscene will play and Captain Ferris will mutate into a new form and the final boss fight truly begins.
To defeat Captain Ferris, shoot near the top of the body where his head is. This area will glow periodically, so it is easy to see. Captain Ferris uses projectile attacks and also tries to move in quickly to unleash lethal melee attacks. Dodge and stay away from the boss as much as possible. Throughout the fight, exploding Biophages will spawn and move toward players. Deal with them as quickly as possible while also keeping away from Captain Ferris.
As Captain Ferris takes damage, more exploding Biophages will spawn. It is important to have aware of where these Biophages are and how close Captain Ferris is, as not paying attention to one can easily result in getting killed by the other. Weapons like the Assault Rifle are very helpful in this fight. Just keep shooting the boss, and eventually a cutscene will play when he dies. Despite the Warden's best efforts to convince him otherwise, Jacob uses the antidote on Dani.
Escape Black Iron Prison
Once the cutscene ends, run up the ramp directly ahead and follow Dani. Once players reach the escape pod at the end of the long hallway, a cutscene will play, and they will have successfully beaten The Callisto Protocol.
The Callisto Protocol is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
