The upcoming open-world MMO game, The Day Before, is a survival horror game set in a deadly, post-apocalyptic version of the US. The game focuses heavily on survival, where players must do everything it takes to protect themselves from the flesh-hungry Infected and other survivors – who do not hesitate to kill each other for food, weapons, and cars.

Zombie fans eagerly await the release of the game and are counting down the days till they can immerse themselves in this spine-chilling world of The Day Before. As hyped as they are, players might have to wait a little longer before they can explore the zombie-infested New Fortune City since the release date for The Day Before has been pushed back.

The Day Before Release Date

The Day Before’s journey through development has been filled with ups and downs, leading to yet another delay in the release of the game. When it was initially revealed by developer Fntastic back in 2021, the title soon became the most wish-listed game on the popular platform, Steam. However, it was taken down in January 2023 due to copyright issues – leaving fans wondering if the game will ever be released.

After being delayed multiple times, The Day Before is finally set to go live on December 7, 2023 – but will only launch on Early Access on Steam. Console fans will have to wait some more, as unfortunately, the Xbox Series and PlayStation versions have been delayed indefinitely.

The Day Before Gameplay Details

After settling its disputes, The Day Before is back up on Steam – with the page revealing the final trailer. The gameplay trailer blew people away with its incredibly realistic and richly detailed graphics while also giving an insight into the basic mechanics of the game.

The trailer opens with the NYC skyline and continues with a guided tour of some of the game’s locations. With a complete narration, the trailer reveals how players can create their own unique characters and set foot in the abandoned streets of NYC to scavenge for supplies. The survivors need to actively take part in restoring the former society by bringing in valuable loot and completing quests to earn the new currency, ‘Woodberry Coins’. The player’s main hub is a settlement called Woodberry – where players can purchase all necessities, such as food, ammo, and weapons in exchange for Woodberry Coins.

The Day Before is essentially a PvPvE game, where players can cooperate against the vicious Infected or attack each other for valuable loot. The gameplay includes unique mechanics such as tracking health, hunger, and thirst meters, decorating a personal ranch, driving, and modifying cool weapons. The game has everything players would expect from a survival-crafting MMO and allows them to experience first-hand the chaos after the apocalypse.
