After being freed from the voice echoing in Khazan's head, players will explore the early regions of Mount Heinmach, battling through soldiers and hostile monkeys. These areas can be deadly to navigate, with bears and Yetis roaming the land and lurking in caves.

How To Avoid

2-Hit Combo

Yetuga can use a 2-hit combo, starting with a left-hand slam followed by a backhand follow-up. It’s fairly easy to guard, but beware of overextending after the combo ends.

4-Hit Slap Combo

This is the basic 4-hit combo the boss performs from time to time. It’s the easiest to guard if you get the timing right. On the last hit, the boss will swerve away but go down briefly, allowing you to sprint at it and land a fully charged hit.

Back Plunge

Whenever you’re at the boss's rear, it falls on its back. This has an easy tell to guard, but be wary, as it attacks immediately upon getting up.

Jumping Strike

Yetuga dashes back and leaps in to punch you. If it misses, or you parry, its hand will get stuck to the ground, allowing you to land a fully charged attack.

Slam

The boss pounds its chest and slams the ground near you. Brink Guard should be your go-to move here to maintain your offense.

Leaping Grab

The boss dashes back from the protagonist and leaps toward you with the intent to grab. This attack is unblockable but has a recognizable audio cue, allowing you to time your dodge before being grabbed.

Giant Rock Throw

This differs from the normal rock throws the boss uses. Yetuga starts the second phase by lifting a piece off the ground, leaping into the air, and hurling it at you. Avoid this by dodging to either side.

Ice Beam

Yetuga dashes back to a corner and starts channeling ice power, shortly releasing a beam of ice that covers a large area. Upon seeing the boss begin his channel, you can run up to him and stay beside him while slashing his torso.

How To Beat Yetuga In The First Berserker: Khazan

Yetuga is similar to any other Yeti you might have faced in the game, with the main difference being its large health pool. Brink Guard is essential for victory in most boss fights in the game. You'll notice a posture bar below the boss’s health bar, which depletes as you land Brink Guards or deal damage. Once the posture bar is empty, you can perform a Brutal Attack to take out a significant chunk of the boss’s health.

With a little practice, the boss’s attacks are relatively easy to guard, allowing you to optimize your stamina usage and defeat Yetuga more efficiently. Just be careful not to go for extra hits, as this can trigger its 4-Hit combo, which deals significant damage and forces you to retreat and heal. Avoiding grabs requires listening for the audio cues, so stay alert and ready to dodge.

Some attacks, like the Ice Beam, Rock Throw, and grabs, cannot be guarded, and you’ll take a decent amount of damage if you try. Instead, focus on dodging to either side to avoid these attacks.

As the second phase begins, Yetuga will pound its chest for a few seconds before attempting to lift a large chunk of the debris into the air. This is your chance to land multiple hits. Keep your lock-on active throughout the fight, and when the boss leaps into the air for the rock throw, be ready to dodge in either direction. If your dodge is successful, dash in immediately to get a few more hits before its next attack begins.

The second phase also introduces another grab attack with a different animation, but the same audio cue. Quick reflexes can help you avoid it at the last second and capitalize on the opening.

Players who lose to Yetuga multiple times will notice that the game offers Lacrima proportionate to the amount of damage dealt to the boss. This happens every time you die to the boss, meaning that even in defeat, you can accumulate Lacrima and use it to upgrade your stats, making the boss fight more manageable over time.

Rewards For Beating Yetuga In The First Berserker: Khazan

Defeating the boss will earn you the following rewards:

  • Frozen Mountain Helm
  • Frozen Mountain Top
  • Slayer's Ring
  • Frozen Mountain Ruler's Horn

This boss fight marks the end of the tutorial. The game will ask for your difficulty choice before placing you in the second main area, Stormpass. This is where you will undergo the trials of the Bantu to defeat the powerful boss at the end.
