The First Descendant is a free-to-play game developed and published by Nexon. The game follows the player character, a Descendant, as they fight to see what remains of humanity survive and thrive.
The game is a third-person shooter that allows players to either play solo or with friends as they take on some challenging missions. One thing the game does is allow players to pick between Descendants, some of which are standard and some are ultimate. Here's a breakdown of the two.

What Are Standard Descendants In The First Descendant?
Standard Descendants are just the regular Descendants that can be unlocked in the game. Unlike the Ultimate versions, they won't have quite as good stats, won't have as many Mod Slots until reaching the maximum level, and will have standard attacks. Not all Standard Descendants will have Ultimate versions. For example, there are only five Ultimate Descendants, but there are 14 Standard Descendants. Ajax, Bunny, Gley, Lepic, and Viessa are the Descendants that have both Standard and Ultimate versions of them. Here's a list of all the Standard Descendants.
- Ajax
- Blair
- Bunny
- Enzo
- Esiemo
- Freyna
- Gley
- Jayber
- Kyle
- Lepic
- Sharen
- Valby
- Viessa
- Yujin
These Descendants are all relatively good. They may not be as great as the Ultimate versions, but they are good to use. Especially while playing early on, the Standard versions are good enough.

What Are Ultimate Descendants In The First Descendant?
The Ultimate Descendants are the better versions of the regular ones. For instance, Ultimate Descendants will have increased stats (such as Health, Max Shield, and Defense), extra Pre-Catalyzed Mod Slots, different appearances, and Ultimate Modules (which give you better attacks and skills). There are currently 5 Ultimate Descendants in the game, and they are certainly worth the extra Caliber and/or resources.
The First Descendant: How To Destroy Void Fragments
Void Fragments mark the beginning of the grind for Amorphous Materials. They may seem unbreakable, but they're actually very easy to take destroy.
While the easiest way is to spend real-life money to unlock these Descendants, players can unlock them using game resources and currency if they don't want to spend any money. The downside to this is that it can take a long time to obtain enough to purchase them from Anias. The truth is, these Descendants are noticeably better than standard ones. They are worth it, though being worth real-life money is up to you. Here's a list of all the Ultimate Descendants currently in the game.
- Ultimate Ajax
- Ultimate Bunny
- Ultimate Gley
- Ultimate Lepic
- Ultimate Viessa
