Dampé is one of the weirdest NPCs in the Zelda universe. He first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a gravedigger in Kakariko Village. He later appeared in the 2019 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening as the dungeon master. The toolset wasn’t as vast as Super Mario Maker, but players could make dungeons in that remake.
6 Things To Do First In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is another expansive Nintendo Switch adventure, and players will want to do a few things as soon as possible.
Dampé once again returns in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom as a budding engineer who can build automatons. They will fight for Zelda alongside monster Echoes about halfway through the game, so here are all six, ranked and how to get them.
6 Gizmol
Create Electric Music As A Barrier
- Materials Needed: Zol Echo and Prismatic Music Box
Gizmol is not that hard to obtain and its also not that great of an automaton. All players need is a Zol Echo and hundreds are littering the game as well as a Prismatic Music Box. The latter item will be a bit trickier to get as players have to race their horse in two matches up at The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s Hyrule Ranch.
Besides the controls for the horse being odd, the races shouldn’t present players with too much of a challenge. Now, Gizmol will not directly attack enemies. Instead, it will play a melody, and magical musical notes can damage those around it. Because the musical notes are not uniform, it can be hard to hit anything though.
5 Goldfinch
Soar Into Riches
- Materials Needed: Crow Echo and Golden Fan
Goldfinch is a bit better than Gizmol as an upgrade to the Crow monster. Naturally then, players need to obtain a Crow Echo along with the Golden Fan item. It can be acquired in the Gerudo Desert Oasis by partaking in the Tough Mango mini-game and Crows are located all over Hyrule.
One of the best things about the Crow is that it can make Rupees explode out of monsters upon attacking them. To get rich quick in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it’s recommended to get a Crow Echo as soon as possible and the Goldfinch is just a better version of it in robotic form. It too can make Rupees appear upon attacking and it can help players glide longer than most flying monsters in the game.
4 Techtite
Rocket Up Any Mountain
- Materials Needed: Tektite Echo and Mothula Echo
Tektites are one of the most frustrating monsters in the game because they are fast and they can jump randomly out of reach. Getting one on the team is a must to balance things out and they can be found around water locations in Hyrule. Mothulas are around the Gerudo Desert region and they are necessary to form this automaton too.
What’s great about the Techtite is that it has all of the positives of the Tektite but without the negatives. It’s strong and durable, and it has a bonus traversal ability. It will launch itself upward like a rocket, which will make climbing up high ridges in Hyrule easier. It’s a good automation to have when scaling the Goron populated area of Eldin Volcano or the chilly and lonely Hebra Mountain, which are necessary for the game’s later story missions.
3 High-Teku Baba
Chomp Enemies Into Oblivion
- Materials Needed: Deku Baba Echo and Steel Trap
High-Teku Baba is a great name for an automaton and it requires a level two form of the Deku Baba plant monster. Players must also complete the Acorn NPC’s trial near the Hyrule Field. He pops up all over the game and he will ask players to find his acorns for prizes. An early encounter will net players a Heart Piece, for example. The Hyrule Field trial will get players the Steel Trap item to make the Deku Baba’s already fearsome teeth more frightening.
It’s a race, so it might be worth finding the Frog Ring accessory in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom which is located in the B2 area of Hyrule Castle. The trial is worth the hassle because High-Teku Baba is a strong automaton. It will stay stationary and eat most enemies in a single bite or it can be carried around and eat things in the player's path like a plant-based Pac-Man.
2 Roboblin
The Samurai Moblin Code
- Materials Needed: Sword Moblin Echo and Heirloom Katana
There are a lot of variations and levels to Moblins in the game. One of them is the Sword Moblin who sports a sword and shield and is generally a useful monster Echo. Obtaining one is necessary for the Roboblin automaton along with the Heirloom Katana. It can be obtained by completing six trials in the Slumber Dojo, which is located in Kakariko Village and Sword Moblins are another creature that is everywhere.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – 8 Heart Piece Locations To Boost Your Health Fast
In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, players will need to find Heart Pieces to boost Zelda’s health. Here are 8 early locations that have them.
Roboblin is immensely powerful as an anime-like samurai version of a Moblin. It drops the shield in favor of gripping a katana with two hands to strike at enemies with a wave attack. Once unleashed, Roboblin will be vulnerable as he will bounce backward from the sheer force of it all. So, there is a setback but the strike truly is a game changer making Roboblin a top-tier ally.
1 Tocktorok
Arm Zelda With An Impressive Canon
- Materials Needed: Octorok Echo and Firework Echo
Tocktorok is the ultimate automaton and he’s one of the easiest to unlock. Octoroks are around most water sources in Hyrule. To get the Firework Echo, players must go to Goron City to complete The Fireworks Artist side quest.
Tocktorok, once wound up, will fire a continuous blast of cannon fire. By picking it up, players can turn Zelda into a walking tank until they need to wind Tocktorok back up again. It’s also great as a defensive partner, making Tocktorok great in all situations. It’s so powerful that it would not be surprising if Nintendo/Grezzo nerfs it in an update.
