Ahead of The Mandalorian season 3 premiere this Wednesday, a new teaser for the Star Wars series was dropped that shows how far Grogu’s powers have come along and some spectacular starship battles taking place in the faraway galaxy.

The final full trailer for the show went up online over a month ago. But with The Mandalorian's impending return, more footage from Disney Plus' most successful show has surfaced to build hype for what already looks like an action-packed season. While The Mandalorian took a long hiatus since completing its second season, Din Djarin and Grogu's story continued to be developed in The Book of Boba Fett, meaning some fans might have some catching up to do if they want to know how the pair wound up back together.

This brief 45-second preview mostly features images that already appeared in the earlier The Mandalorian trailers, especially that scene featuring Grogu blasting away an unsuspecting creature that is no match for his force powers. Instead, the more significant novelty here is how much air combat Mando and Grogu will face. The start and end of The Mandalorian trailer feature flight sequences where the two are flying away from Empire forces aboard the new N-1 Starfighter that Peli Motto set up for them.

Besides that, there are also some landscape shots and several sightings of other Mandalorians. This suggests Bo-Katan Kryze will have a big part to play as Din Djarin becomes more involved with his clan heritage. The Armorer is also here, and some fan theories suggest that she too could have an increasingly important role as the cracks in Mandalorian culture become more apparent.

Although there’s no sign of him showing up here, Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett is all but confirmed to come back for The Mandalorian, in what could perhaps set up a second season for his spinoff The Book of Boba Fett. The only thing missing in this likely last teaser is The Mandalorian's Darksaber, a piece of weaponry that’s bound to be the centrepiece of the clan’s inner conflict.

Besides Din Djarin and Grogu's reunion, one of the biggest takeaways in The Book of Boba Fett was that the fan-favorite Mandalorian took off his helmet, a cardinal sin among the order that will see him seek atonement in their abandoned home planet.

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney Plus on March 1, 2023.
