There's usually more than one way to resolve a conflict in The Outer Worlds 2, and as far as the Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice quest is concerned, you can either let the people of Westport thrive on their own, or try to get them to side with Fairfield as per Milverstreet's request. Of course, in true Outer Worlds 2 fashion, there are several ways to go about this, and one such method involves sabotaging the town's infrastructure via the Westport Generator Station.
Outer Worlds 2: How to Get All Companions
There are six companions Outer Worlds 2 players can recruit to their side, two of which are available by default.
Where to Get the Westport Generator Station Key in The Outer Worlds 2
The funny thing about this is that the keycard can be found inside the Westport Generator Station itself. You can find the station at the southeastern side of the town, and to enter it, you need to enter through a hole in the station's upper wall.
Before that, one of the things you need to do first in The Outer Worlds 2 is to unlock the Double Jump ability. You can do this by getting the PALE boots during the Perilous Journey to the Grove quest, which you can start by speaking to Huell Chaudry in front of the sheriff's office in Fairfield. Alternatively, do the For Whom the Bridge Tolls quest for Warden Weintraut of the Protectorate at the Bridge of the Reverent.
Now that you can jump twice, go to the Westport Generator Station, then head up to the roof using the nearby boxes. Look for the hole shown in the first image above, then hop down into the building. Y ou'll find the Westport Generator Station Keycard on one of the small boxes inside.
At this point, the keycard is only truly there to let you out of the generator station after you make your way inside. While you're there, you can choose to sabotage the generator itself, but you'll need one of the following:
- Explosives 2
- Portable Galvanic Subverter
Milverstreet should have given you a Portable Galvanic Subverter along with a bunch of other supplies to convince Westport's folks to come over to Fairfield, so you won't have to worry about leveling Explosives if you didn't take it as one of your starting skills. The subverter counts as a quest item, which means it cannot be sold.
Naturally, sabotaging Westport's generator will throw a wrench at Vigilant Hogarth's plan of restoring the town to its former glory, and if you decide to follow through with Milverstreet's plan, Westport's most important people will leave the town behind and the Protectorate behind to join Fairfield and Auntie's Choice.
