The Outer Worlds 2's pre-order bonuses have been leaked ahead of its appearance at the June 8 Xbox Games Showcase. Like with Starfield and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in previous years, this year's Xbox event will be immediately followed by a 30-minute direct presentation centered on Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds 2.

Impressively, The Outer Worlds 2 is Obsidian's second major RPG of 2025 after its fantasy RPG Avowed was released back in February. Originally announced during Xbox's E3 2021 showcase, Obsidian had been keeping quiet about The Outer Worlds 2 for a number of years until it finally showed back up with a gameplay trailer during The Game Awards 2024. It was here that Obsidian boldly confirmed a 2025 release window for the game. With Avowed already set to serve as the studio's big 2025 RPG at the time, many doubted that The Outer Worlds 2 would actually land in 2025. However, with Obsidian making a massive push with tons of official gameplay footage having been released over the past few months and a huge Xbox showcase Direct presence, its promised 2025 release is looking all the more solid.

French gaming site Dealabs Magazine seems to have leaked important The Outer Worlds 2 pre-order information in a new article by well-known insider Billbil-kun. The piece doesn't divulge any release date info, but instead focuses on The Outer Worlds 2's preorder bonus package, named the Commander Zane Battle Pack, which includes the items Zane's Uniform Armor, Ed's Pet Drone, and Zane's Pistol and Dagger. With little known so far about The Outer Worlds 2's characters and companions, it's unclear exactly who Zane and Ed are. Billbil-kun went on to confirm that The Outer Worlds 2 pre-orders will go live right after its Direct presentation ends.

The Dealabs Magazine article also put to bed recent theories of an Outer Worlds 2 shadow drop. Xbox has become known for its recent shadow drops following its January Developer Direct presentations, with 2023's show seeing the celebrated shadow drop of Hi-Fi Rush, and this past Dev Direct surprising fans with Koei Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remaster of the original 2008 action classic. With Obsidian already having released Avowed only four months ago, an Xbox showcase shadow drop of The Outer Worlds 2 is extremely unlikely.

Xbox's June 8 showcase is just days away, and fans should be able to expect new looks and information about big titles like Ninja Gaiden 4 and Gears of War: Reloaded. Perhaps another look at the previously delayed Fable reboot could be in store, as it's been updated with a 2026 release window. Dealabs' article reports that an Outer Worlds 2 release date is a near certainty, so fans should be able to expect to learn when they'll have their hands on the RPG sequel by the time the Direct presentation ends.
