The Pitt Season 2 Is In Production (And Premiering In A Few Months)

Variety reported that The Pitt season 2 has started production. While exterior shots are filmed in Pittsburgh, PA, the majority of the series is shot at the Burbank, California Warner Bros. Lot.

The Pitt season 1 finale achieved what every season ending should: wrapping up major storylines and teasing what's to come. As new doctors and interns finish their first shift in the E.R., they reflect on the emotional experiences they've had while looking to the future. Everyone has changed as a result of what they've gone through, whether they're a seasoned doctor like Robby or a newcomer, and it's fascinating to imagine what could come next for these beloved characters.

While The Pitt season 2 will feature many of the same main characters and every episode will likely carry the same emotional weight as the first season, there are a few notable changes. The second season will take place 10 months later on the Fourth of July weekend. There are also a few new cast members. Deadline reported that Lucas Iverson will play a fourth-year medical student named James, Laëtitia Hollard will portray nursing grad Emma, and Irene Choi will appear as smart third-year medical student Joy, who is drawn to darker medical facts. Charles Baker will play a patient named Troy who is unhoused.

Fans can't wait to see their favorite doctors and medical professionals come back, from Dr. Heather Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) to Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden). “I think that she can’t leave because she doesn’t want to face that she doesn’t think she could come back… Her whole heart is there..."

While it's unclear what medical cases will be explored next, season 1 featured two dark, intense, and devastating storylines: a mass shooting at a musical festival and a measles outbreak.
