In The Precinct, stamina isn't just a secondary stat; it's a lifeline. Whether pursuing suspects, dodging gunfire, or climbing to secure vantage points, stamina determines how long players can stay agile and responsive. Managing and improving stamina is key to surviving long shifts on the streets and staying one step ahead of the city's criminal underbelly.

While The Precinct doesn't overwhelm players with complex stats, two stand above the rest in importance: health and stamina. In a city that never sleeps, endurance can be the difference between catching and losing a suspect. This vulnerability can lead to failed pursuits or dangerous encounters, so here's how to increase stamina.

How to Increase Stamina in The Precinct

The Precinct Stamina

Once an officer's stamina is depleted, their movement becomes sluggish, and actions like sprinting, tackling, and climbing are temporarily unavailable. This critical stat directly impacts moment-to-moment gameplay, especially during foot chases and high-stakes missions.

Running at full speed quickly drains stamina. Use strategic bursts of sprinting, like when rounding corners or crossing open spaces, and let the stamina bar recover while walking or using cover.

Letting stamina recharge while walking or taking cover can keep officers agile without forcing them to come to a crawl at the worst possible moment. To increase stamina, players will need to purchase Upgrades using Upgrade Tokens. Upgrade Tokens are a form of in-game currency earned by gaining experience points (XP). XP is awarded for performing daily police duties such as making lawful arrests, writing parking citations, and issuing fines.

The Precinct Upgrade Tokens

Players can access and manage their upgrades through the Player Menu, where skills are categorized into four main areas:

  • Physical
  • Combat
  • Policing
  • Vehicle

Stamina-related upgrades are found under the Physical category. Several nodes within this skill tree directly affect stamina, such as increasing total capacity, slowing stamina drain during intense activity, or accelerating stamina regeneration over time. These upgrades are linked through a skill tree, meaning some must be unlocked in sequence to access higher-tier bonuses.

Using excessive or lethal force by mistake can result in lost XP and penalties at the end of a shift. Sometimes, this can force players to reload from an earlier autosave to correct their mistake. Focusing on stamina early in a playthrough can significantly improve a player's effectiveness in foot pursuits, crowd control, and tactical engagements. With increased stamina, officers become harder to outrun, tougher to pin down, and better equipped to maintain control during unpredictable encounters.

Stamina keeps officers moving, but it works hand in hand with health, since lasting longer in a chase means little if they cannot withstand damage when it matters most. Players can also invest in health points under the same skill category. More health means they can hold their own in shootouts, vehicle collisions, and other instances, taking damage.
