The Quarry is an interactive horror game with nine protagonists, and their lives are tied to the players’ choices. There are good and bad choices. Some have a big impact while others have a small one. This is why every option matters, as it can lead to the death of more than one person or the complete opposite.
Deaths are a normal occurrence in The Quarry, and players can even kill everyone to get a certain Trophy / Achievement if desired. What distinguishes one death from another is how brutal it was since there are some scenes where characters die a horrible and painful death.
7 Dylan: Arms Ripped Apart
In chapter nine, Kaitlyn and Dylan are in the Scrapyard trying to find some necessary parts to fix the van. Unfortunately, after Dylan operated the crane and brought down the car for Kaitlyn, a werewolf attacks Kaitlyn.
If players manage to save Kaitlyn, the monster will climb the crane and attacks Dylan. Failing the QTE to use the blowtorch results in the werewolf pouncing on the broadcaster. It will first crunch his right hand, throw the limb away, slice Dylan’s other hand, and finally crush his windpipes before taking a bite. To witness this death, players need to WARN KAITLYN, complete QTE, SOUND HORN, and fail QTE.
6 Kaitlyn: Devoured
In a later scene of chapter nine, Kaitlyn is back at the lodge, preparing for any danger she might face alongside Dylan (if he was saved earlier on in the chapter). Following a tense moment, werewolf Caleb breaks through the chimney and attacks.
After the monster climbs the second floor, it’ll start chasing the Camp Counselors around until they arrive near the kitchen. Upon picking to INVESTIGATE the noise and failing to shoot Caleb, the werewolf will grab Kaitlyn’s head, slamming her to the ground multiple times, crushing her body, and ending her misery by biting an enormous chunk out of her waist.
5 Jacob: Cut In Half
There are two conditions for getting this death scene. In chapter nine, Ryan needs to solve the breaker puzzle to free Jacob, and he can’t shoot Chris Hackett in the same chapter. At the beginning of chapter ten, when Jacob’s scene takes place, he’ll be reflecting on his choices while werewolf Chris is watching him from a distance.
Jacob can RUN and complete the QTEs when the creature attacks to be safe. However, if the rope trap QTE goes wrong, Jacob will be hung by his feet upside down. Here, Chris approaches the Sports Coach like a predator and slashes his torso until he’s cut in half. After that, the werewolf pulls out Jacob’s intestines and eats them.
4 Ryan: Devoured
In chapter 10, after Ryan, Laura, and Travis decide to work together to search for Silas, the group finds it curled up in his cage after running over the creature with the car. Upon refusing to shoot the White Wolf, the werewolf will attack and kill everyone. Laura and Travis get beheaded, then the monster tears Ryan’s jaw along with his tongue and devours his inside from the torso.
This death can only occur if players let Laura use the blood vial dropped by Bobby or if the vial wasn’t in Ryan’s possession in the first place.
3 Abigail: Head Torn Off
After the group discovers Kaylee Hackett’s corpse in the pool, they settled in the Pool House for the time being, while Nick recovers in chapter six. Abigail is tasked with finding some stuff to ease Nick’s pain.
After chatting for a bit, Nick gets angry and throws her to a wall, where she finds a discarded shotgun. If Abi doesn’t shoot Nick, he’ll transform into a werewolf, pounce at her and slam her head into the wall multiple times, then brutally tear her head from her body.
2 Ryan: Jammed Weapon In Head
After Laura transforms and attacks Travis Hackett, Ryan manages to find a weapon and aim it at werewolf Chris who is busy fighting Bobby. Failing to shoot the monster or missing him results in Chris pouncing on Ryan, taking the weapon from his hands, and jamming it on Ryan’s face multiple times until the shotgun is stuck in his face.
The same thing can happen if he shoots Laura instead of Chris. It's also worth noting here that Ryan doesn’t need to accept Laura’s bite to create this scenario.
1 Constance: Shot In The Face
Upon leaving the red room in chapter nine, Laura decides to eavesdrop on Travis and Constance’s conversation in the hopes of figuring out how the whole mess started with Silas. Unfortunately, Laura is discovered, and Constance drags the girl by her hair. Laura recovers quickly, stands up, and aims the shotgun at the Hacketts.
Constance turns off the oil lamp so that the blonde won’t be able to see anything, then catches her off guard by grabbing the weapon. In a struggle to keep the weapon, Laura starts pulling, which leads to her accidentally shooting Constance in the face, blowing her face open until all that’s left is blood, her eyeballs, and a couple of teeth.
