In the boundless realm of The Dreaming, The Sandman Season 2 is quickly starting to make its way into fans' realities with its release date just around the corner. However, before Netflix's final season of the fantasy series is unleashed, a brand-new clip of Neil Gaiman's classic comic live-action adaptation has dropped, which showcases a rather awkward interaction from The Endless during the marriage of Orpheus, as well as a first look at Destiny as he makes a chilling statement.

Production on The Sandman season two went full steam ahead in June 2023 at the Shepperton Studios in the UK, and almost a year later, season two finally wrapped filming last year in August. Now, fans of Neil Gaiman's supernatural fantasy series are even closer to witnessing the return of Dream and the rest of The Endless to their screens. In the second season, fans can expect to see narratives from Gaiman's volume The Season of Mists and Brief Lives, in which viewers will be taken to the underworld of Hades, Ancient Greece, Elizabethan England, and the French Revolution, as well as encounter demons, fairies, and gods. Although Death, played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste, the second oldest of The Endless, played a fairly significant, albeit shorter, role in season one, The Sandman season 2 will include a bonus episode titled "The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living," focusing on Dream's wiser sister.

The Sandman Season 2 Clip Teases The Song of Orpheus Episode

Revealed on IGN's YouTube channel, the exclusive The Sandman season 2 video shows off the marriage of Orpheus (Ruairi O'Connor) and Eurydice (Ella Rumpf) as The Endless offer their congratulations to the couple. However, not all of the family members are as excited about the happy occasion, as Despair, played by Donna Preston (naturally), states that "most marriages end in misery", before Destiny (Mason Alexander Park) interjects to break the awkwardness up to say, "but isn't love wonderful." Delirium has her own strange way of saying her well wishes to Orpheus and Eurydice as she reveals that she "was almost married once, but that was a very long time ago and it was probably my fault." Really, the clip proves that regardless of the realm, family interactions will never not be a tricky endeavor.

However, one character's chilling debut that has fans talking is Destiny, played by Adrian Lester. After Orpheus asks Destiny if he wants to wish them well on their marriage, the first and eldest of the Endless states that he is Destiny, "I do not wish, I know." In the comment section of the clip, fans of the show are loving Destiny's cold and stoic presence, with one commenter saying, "That last line was just too cold. So hyped for this season actually", while another states, "I Know" hits differently here." Others have been pointing out how amazing this season looks already and are pretty sad that this will be its final outing, since it looks like it's getting even better than before.

Recently, The Sandman TV show creator, Allan Heinberg, revealed that the decision to end the Netflix series after only two seasons was made a long time before the allegations against original comic book series creator Neil Gaiman came to light. Heinberg explained that the decision was "made years ago," and it was always the choice to end on Dream's narrative from the source material.

The Sandman Season 2 Volume 1 will release via Netflix on July 3, 2025, and Volume 2 is scheduled for release on July 24, 2025.
