Fortnite and The Simpsons have taken their recent crossover one step further by adding characters from the former into the beloved animated series and killing off one of the game's most notable mascots. Over the years, Fortnite has continued to partner with major pop culture franchises, and The Simpsons has proven to be an incredibly successful partnership.

The Simpsons officially came to Fortnite on November 1, bringing iconic characters like Homer Simpson and Krusty the Clown into the fold. It appears that the collaboration has gone beyond the Epic Games title, though, as Season 37 of The Simpsons has given one Fortnite character a hilariously grisly end.

The Simpsons Kills Off Fortnite's Peely in Latest Episode

  • Season 37 Episode 5 of The Simpsons, titled "Bad Boys... For Life?" Gives Peely an untimely demise.
  • The episode includes multiple notable characters from Fortnite.

In the episode, famous Fortnite characters like Jonesy, Meowscles, and Fishstick are held at gunpoint on the Simpson family's couch. The characters run away, but Peely slips and falls, unfortunately ending in his death. Although Peely isn't seen killed, his untimely ending is made clear, as the Simpsons gather around their dinner table to eat a banana split sundae out of his lifeless body. It's a wild and hilariously morbid turn of events that perfectly encapsulates The Simpsons' special brand of chaotic humor.

For fans of both Fortnite's Peely and The Simpsons' gruesome handling of the character, the Springfielder Peely skin brings this iteration of the anthropomorphic banana to life in the game, minus the open torso full of sundae. Peely may not have been with Fortnite since the beginning, but the bipedal banana has continued to be one of the most notable mascots of the game, and being featured in The Simpsons in such an unexpected way further showcases why this crossover has been such a hit.

It's been fascinating to see which important pop culture franchises Fortnite manages to team up with, and The Simpsons has one of the strongest legacies, so far. After The Simpsons crossover, it may be challenging to one-up such a successful and beloved TV show. The animated series has been going strong since 1989, and with The Simpsons movie finally getting a sequel in 2027, it will be interesting to see if Homer, Bart, and the rest of Springfield's iconic residents will return for another Fortnite collaboration to help promote the film.
