Though The Sims 4 Dine Out game pack exists, there are several fantastic mods out there that improve or add to the restaurant experience of Sims.

This article lists some of the most exciting gameplay elements in the Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack, soon to release for The Sims 4. It also includes the details have were shown in the trailers.

1 Pottery Skill

Create, Beautify, and Repair Ceramic Art

Sims will be able to make their own ceramic pieces using the Pottery Skill in The Sims 4 starting March 6, 2025. With the Pottery Skill, Sims will be able to create functional or decorative items using the Pottery Wheel.

Once done, they can beautify their pieces by applying glazes - there is even an unbreakable coating to prevent the inevitable. However, if it does happen and a ceramic piece is somehow smashed to pieces, Sims with a high Pottery Skill will be able to put it back together.

2 More Tattoos and Tattooing Skill

Lets Sims Freely Express Themselves

In The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies, gamers will be able to open up their own tattoo parlor, but in order to provide a good service, they will obviously need to learn the Tattooing Skill. As Sims increase their Tattooing Skill Level, they'll unlock fun stamps, stencils, and designs that they can use to create pieces of their clients. Since their first few tattoos might not be the best, Sims will also eventually be able to do touch-ups and laser remove tattoos.

The Sims 4's Gallery contains countless amazing designs, some of which are very unique. Check out these incredible builds.

Even if Sims don't want to learn how to tattoo, this pack will give players way more options when it comes to picking their Sims' body art. Businesses & Hobbies will feature the Tattoo Paint Mode. With it, players can create various design layers, using presets, stencils, stamps, and a free-hand tool. Players can even share and download tattoo designs from the Gallery.

3 Lecture or Attend Classes

Teach or Learn a Skill By Participating in Fun Activities

Sims can give their own classes with the Businesses & Hobbies expansion pack to monetize their knowledge. While teaching a class, Sims will have different objectives that they must complete in order to get paid after.

Alternatively, Sims can also attend classes and improve their skills, as they complete lecture tasks.

4 Mentoring and Skill Mastery Perks

Practice a Skill to Earn Perks

In connection with the previous entry, highly-skilled Sims can also mentor other Sims. Although the explanation given in the gameplay trailer about this feature is a bit confusing, it seems that Sims that have maxed out a Skill can mentor Sims in exchange for Simoleons, and this will also continue to increase their skills and unlock Skill Mastery Perks - as well as any other activity that consists of practing a mastered Skill.

Skill Mastery Perks unlock special abilities connected to said Skill. These abilities, if obtained by an elder, can be passed down to another Sim.

5 Fun Business Perks and Interactions

Choose the Type of Owner Your Sim Wants to Be

As players spend more time managing their business in The Sims 4, they will earn Small Business Perk Points. These points can be spent on a tree with three separate categories.

Unlocking perks grants Sims new abilities and interactions that they can use to improve their business or their personal lives. For example, Sims can gain access to an interaction that allows them to buy Simocoin. This is a neutral perk, so it shouldn't affect the business or the Sim's personal relationships. However, there are other types of interactions that can be seen as negative or positive and may lead to more noticeable consequences.

6 Wide Variety of Business Types

Open Up All Kinds of Businesses

Players will be able to select each business type as presets and then fully customize it however they please. Here are the preset business types that players can choose from:

  • Bar
  • Gym
  • Library
  • Lounge
  • Museum
  • Nightclub
  • Park
  • Pool
  • Pottery Studio
  • Shop
  • Tattoo Parlor

Although Stalls are shown in the gameplay trailer, it doesn't seem like players will be able to place stalls and run a mobile business.

Businesses can be built on Residential Lot or Business Venues, and they can be set to retail or service-oriented; it is up to the player to decide what their end goal is for their business.

7 Highly Customizable Businesses

Make Your Sim's Business As Exclusive As You Want

Players can fully customize their business by picking the activites that will take place within their business space, select the customers that it attempts to target, and even set an entrance free.

When it comes to customer criteria, gamers can choose from a wide range of options. They can pick within an age group, career, marital status, financial status, traits, Skill level, Occult Sims, and even supervision requirements. All of these options can determine how excluvise a business is but also allows gamers to cater to a certain type of customer and make a realistic or extremely goofy business.
